When I think about it, isn't it cheating to have a transformation seq like that, esp in later eps when everyone transforms. Then the animator needs to do less work.

huh, why is it cheating?

Because say all the transformations takes up 3-5 minutes of the episode, then the animator only has to do animation for 15 minutes of an episode rather than 20 minutes.

If I were the villain I'd totally go for a cheap shot during the transformation stage

I always felt that way during Digimon when all 7 kids or whatever would Digivolve their Digimon up to Ultimate and it would literally half the episode ahah

This episode is only 19 minutes but 10 minutes of it is digivolving... lol
