its not like it wasn't tried before.... and it is actually bound to produce problems.
Like the CL's, since they where appointed, its impossible to find any real critic, and the flame every critic must face... well i don't write there anymore. And even reading the forum isn't a pleasant anymore. Guides like "Smitske’s guide to all that’s reportable(IG)" let me start thinking what the community has became there, because its a guide that teaches the community to spy and report on itself. Some player are actually thinking of themself as a self proclaimed police force, with the gms as quick judges. And now we become more of them? What will happen the next time i go ballistic, because some really obtrusive kid was pushing me over the line? Will i get banned to? Or what if i don't like a gl and tell him what i think about him? What will happen if i actually ksed someone by mistake or intentionally, and he turns out to be friend of a gl? Of course im thinking of possibilities here, but there is no system of penalization for a gl. After all the gms must have trust in them, or the cl wouldn't be able to do anything. So who is gonna be punished when the gl is doing something wrong? A gm has his job on the line, and i heard an outspark gm was already fired because of that. But a gl? the only thing he has to loose is his privileges. And how many cases does it need until the bond of trust between a gl and gm is actually broken? Because if a gl says u have to be jailed for 2months what can u do, except just accepting your fate? The gms will trust the gl, not u. |
Outspark needs to reveal who these GL's are chosen or why they can't disclose that. I'm trying to think of why these GLs are chosen. CLs were chosen because they were active on for the forum boards and they were deemed to be helpful people (or something... >.>). So does that mean GLs were chosen because they are really active in-game?
So what? Are these GLs like... gold farmers? Player-bots? The GMs aren't in-game enough to know the players of the community well enough to choose which one is more "GL-worthy" than another. And you would think that at least the CLs would know what was going on since the GLs are like the CLs' counterparts. But Serric and Centrix both seemed like they didn't know until Serric closed the thread because "this thread is venturing towards some troubled waters" even though the stuff being discussed was completely harmless. Outspark needs to be more open with its players. Some stuff can't be revealed for whatever reasons. Fine. But other stuff, such as the implementation of GLs--the stuff that concerns the regular day-to-day players? A little more disclosure would be nice. Also, what the heck are [PM]s? |
Totally agree with Ralath....
Why cant they tell us about the GLs BEFORE they bring them in in-game?! They might not be able to tell us WHO the GLs are, but they should at least let us know wat the GLs are there for, if they're gonna be our LEADER so here we've got a few leaders that we have no idea about... and then they closed the thread =/ are they secret agents with a big tag on them or something?! |
A little off topic but:

It seems as if outspark is run by a bunch of short sighted people. First rule of thumb: NEVER GIVE A CONSUMER THE ABILITY TO MANAGE A PRODUCT. Influence yes, manage no. As for the Game Leaders, I sincerely hope it is someone from the staff of outspark rather than another player. Its rather stupid to give players the power to ban, shout, or in any way influence changes of that nature to a game. |
I agree with Ralath and AngellicDiety @__@; As for CL's, I don't think they should be given in-game ability. To my understanding, they were chosen because they were some of the most active and helpful people on the forums. That doesn't mean they should be able to control people in game. For GL's, I actually have no problem with them overall o: It might even work. I just wish that GM's told us this beforehand, like Ralath said, and WHY they were implementing this. Not a single note before, just player observations. THAT is treading in dangerous waters. It's not because of our discussion that it's "dangerous," it's because of GM's not releasing info on it and we are forced to make guesses that it's become "dangerous." But yeah, welcome! LMAO. I've only seen two GL's around though, that one and GameHelper I think o: |
GameHelper is a GL?
So.... are... the CLs also the GLs? @_@ |
I think they should implement those things where you can check the latest command the users use. I know some places can do that. Like, on their website, you can click this thing to view the latest commands the GMs use. Not sure how that works cos I'm a computer noob but I think doing something like that will bring a lot of the complaints down cause people can "stalk" them and check out what they've been doing.
Everyone is complaining atm due to the lack of information, imo. |
Anyway, a PM(somebody told me) is a Product Manager. I think he's a member of the staff. He was able to change his level at will.
|
Product Manager...... that sounds interesting...
I think if they're employees of Outspark then its good news for us... (there's so many things that we're all waiting for it to be looked at, they more ppl they've got the better i guess!!) |
