They pick on you not because you can't defeat them in combat, it's because you're afraid of them.

it seems you've misunderstood me. I dont fear them in the slightest. i know that no matter how much they pick on me it's just because they're unsatisfied with life, or they're just jerks, and im the bigger person for not fighting back.

also, he DID say something like "you will be persecuted for believing in me; but you must not fight back" or something. though it's not religion im being persecuted for, i believe it kinda sticks.

But regardless, im a pacifist. i refuse to use violence of any sorts. let this matter be settled, because you wont change my position on that.

Can I ask you why you are so sure that violence is not the answer? I'm not advocating it or anything, but you seem to have some ironclad reason for never using violence. Can I know what it is?

well, for one im a wimp. but second of all, one of my heros is Martin Luther King Jr. i believe he was correct that peaceful protest is a much greater resolution to something than violence. i believe that if im picked on, fighting back makes me just as bad as the bullies since i am therefore advocating violence. if you dont stick by your values in the tough times, they're not really values.

EDIT: i've never really seen violence solve a problem either. it stops it, but it doesnt change how the person sees the world. for example, if you punch a bully, is it going to make him see that violence is any less of a way to get by?

Well there's always the one approach which always works. Agree with them.

If they call you a Nerd or something and you say "Yeah, i'm a nerd, and ?" It takes the fun out of it for them, Ifd they call you gay, or something which agreeing would be worse thne answer in a calm sensible, British way, like "Gay ? Ofcourse I'm not gay haha, well I'm off, good day to you"

I think there's a huge difference between initiating violence, and self defence. One is justified, the other isn't.

Take terrorism for example. I live in India, and on the 26th of Dec, a hotel in Mumbai was bombed. Should we turn the other cheek and let them bomb Bangalore also? I think not. They should be rooted out and brought before justice.

hm... but when lives are at stake, it's different... plus politics change alot of things too... hm... idk. that's just my personal view on how i want to live my life, you know? i want to try and use peace to fight violence. i think that when a nation is attacked, they have the right to fight against the violating parties, as you would if your life was at risk. when lives are involved, things change alot.

anyway, im not like, condemning those who use violence to protect themselves. im just a pacifist *shrugs*

i try that, but sometimes it doesnt work. i think i'll continue that strategy though. eventually they'll shut up. or continue bullying me. but in the end, it makes very little impact on my life as a whole. im not gonna let the opinions of those chimps effect me.
