Blaaaaaaaah 07-12-2015 01:51 PM

I was wondering why my screen protector and case are taking so long to arrive. One I only ordered but not paid and the other I didn't even order. wut =="

Lirange 07-12-2015 02:00 PM

omggg you noob. Just go in a store.

Blaaaaaaaah 07-12-2015 09:03 PM

It would cost me $10-15 to get ONE screen protector in store as opposed to $1 for 3 on ebay...

Ralath 07-12-2015 10:39 PM

How can you buy something but not pay for it...

Hessah 07-13-2015 12:34 AM

I've had times where I ordered and didn't finish paying.. but I don't think I've forgotten to place the order altogether...

Blaaaaaaaah 07-13-2015 06:48 AM

I don't know how I did it either. It's a two step process on ebay but I always do it one after the other. @_@

Ralath 07-13-2015 08:09 PM

do you use SQL Lirange?

Lirange 07-13-2015 11:35 PM

why? What's that?

Ralath 07-13-2015 11:50 PM

uh, then I guess you don't...

Hessah 07-14-2015 12:03 AM

What do you use SQL in Ralath?

I only know SQL in MS Access...

Lirange 07-14-2015 12:04 AM

I googled it and it's some database programming language?

We use it in SQL Server. I don't really understand the differences between the SQLs (like I know there's also MySQL) but most of them are pretty similar I think.

I need to write a lot of queries and I get so confused because I'm not used to using SQL for stuff that I would do in Excel...

Yes. Can you learn it and do my work? You'll get to know more about me.

Hessah 07-14-2015 01:27 AM

Yeah I never fully understood the SQL language...

I wish I understand programming language more... When I go to conferences for my work's database system, I feel like I'm missing something coz I understood most words that people said but can't understand it as a sentence...

Ralath 07-14-2015 02:34 AM

Lollll yeah or when you try and get help from a coworker and they tell you how to do it and you don't understand what they told you to do...

I started one of those online courses but I need to know how to do everything now not learn the basics first..... x_x

Where's Tama....

Hessah 07-14-2015 03:02 AM

Is the online course free?!

Ralath 07-14-2015 03:54 AM

Yeah there's a lot of these courses:

https://www.khanacademy.org/computin...rogramming/sql

I like Khan Academy because they gamify it and you can get badges and stuff lol. The first SQL basics lesson I didn't think was that useful because I don't need to build/create databases and I definitely wouldn't do it by inserting row by row. But it's helpful for better understanding on databases in general I guess.

But there are some more advanced options too from Coursera or other MOOCs.

Hessah 07-14-2015 04:34 AM

Cool I might check it out and see if it'll help with my database at work... we don't use SQL.. I don't think.. but the way to think and the logic might be similar..

Ralath 07-14-2015 04:43 AM

I think the query writing stuff should be pretty similar.

Lirange 07-14-2015 06:21 AM

I lied I do know it, quite good at it actually hehe. What do you need help with?

Those are relational databases and SQL is how you access the data in those databases. Microsoft Access is another one. They're all fairly similar, though some functions may be named differently or even unavailable in certain databases. Syntax may differ a bit. But overall, if you know how to perform queries in one relational database, you know how to perform it on others.

Do you know what database you use? It probably is relational and uses SQL.

Ralath 07-14-2015 07:05 AM

1) Who's the liar now
2) I can't believe you're on so late on a weeknight but not on the weekend!??!
3) I fixed what I needed to do but I'm sure I'll come across something tomorrow I don't know how to do again.

Blaaaaaaaah 07-14-2015 07:26 AM

LOL lirange....

We use Salesforce.. I think it's slightly different.. but if I go into the more advance stuff maybe it'll become more similar.. I just did the basic SQL and it seems fairly straight forward, things I already know...

Never heard of Salesforce. The basic stuff business associates should be able to do, they shouldn't be giving you complex ones to create if you're not technical.

Lirange 07-14-2015 11:22 AM

I want the intermediate to advanced ones Ralath, you probably couldn't figure out how a join works or something.

Ralath 07-14-2015 07:04 PM

Actually half the time, I just don't even understand the data in the tables so I have no idea if I'm actually even pulling the right data to begin with or whether I should include or not include something.

Lirange 07-14-2015 09:10 PM

Omg I have that exact same problem at work. I don't know what any of this shit means yet I'm supposed to resolve issues regarding them.

Lirange 07-14-2015 09:14 PM

And you ask people what stuff means but they suck at explaining or only give partial answers and you don't know it's partial uggggh.

Ralath 07-15-2015 12:38 AM

ugh ugh ugh!!!!

I just found out that I did all this work where I created join tables based upon the date, but instead I have to join on a unique identifier instead...

Lirange 07-15-2015 03:14 AM

Rookie mistake.

Hessah 07-31-2015 10:30 PM

If I want to pay for an antivirus program, which one should I go with?

I currently have the free avast! one.. wondering if I should pay for the full subscription...
