^Sounds like the snowball effect. You kept giving each other rep and in turn that meant your rep got bigger each time you repped someone until it was too late to turn back.

@Blahs: I think people have good judgement when de-repping. Everyone with 1+ neg-reps is either a jerk, or posts idiotic questions. In the case of an unnamed idol of Wacky's, he even asked for a plvling here. A big No-No.

Being new with the whole forum thing in general, only people with high reps have been the ones to leave feedback or help me with my issues. It is nice knowing that these people have already helped someone in the past so I can (at least partially) trust they know what they are talking about.

So coming from a new person, I say leave it the way it is.

I know that there is one 11-bar user that always floats around with assistance, but the other two are more of Mountain of Spam frequenters that received random rep-boosts from random people. Nothing against them, but I doubt their reputation is truly legitimate. One or two +reps is understandable for a funny remark or a well-made point, or a well-made work of art, but I doubt that getting reputation for saying "lol" can be deemed legitimate.

However, I cannot see inside private guild forums anymore, thus I cannot discern whether my observation is valid or not. Of course, as people say, it's "only rep."

I seem to be more pessimistic lately. Odd.

Now that I've had the oppurtunity to really examine this issue, I want to change my vote to removal of the entire reputation system.

I mean, a few months ago there were like, two people on the forum who had 2 bars, myself being one of them - and that was the highest back then. So the sudden MASSIVE INFLUX of bars is annoying, but then I also see people suddenly start like, "omg rep me, omg rep me, grow my e-penis, rep me!"

And its turning into a lame popularity contest thing. Reminds me of like....I dunno, but nothing good, lmao. Its just really annoying, especially when it doesn't do diddley squat but its still got a handful of people all riled up trying to gain more rep.

So I guess mods/Entropy are deciding now? It probably won't be 100% the community's decision, right?

Off topic: Lol, someone de-repped me because "ur title is offensive >_>". It just reminded me of this whole thing.

I haven't had any problems with rep for a long time :3 Seems like its cooled down a bit. I was getting repped and de-repped for no reason before. Now Its only when I am helpful or whatever xD

That's right. We like to get an idea of how the community feels before making any decisions. :)

lmao hyper xD I get derepped randomly a lot, even now xD Like I got repped, then derepped for the thread I had with Lilian in MoS - "Not needed" they said. (cooking phobes) then I got derepped on a post where I was giving somebody advice in photoshop >_> lots of blank or "." comments too xD Oh well!

I honestly think it shoudl just be removed and exchanged with little awards or something, like how asylumcam forums do. @_@
