I honestly find it disheartening that people think it's an issue for someone to share knowledge of the game with others... play the game for yourself, what does it matter to you if other people have blue weapons? Why is it such a big deal that only a select few should know about them? This game revolves a lot around the community, and frankly, I'm not impressed by what a lot of people on ff have said regarding this. It's not as if you'll see every other person with a blue weapon by next week; it'll still be an accomplishment to find even one.

Just adding in my 2 cents.

I must comment on this, because I have been watching this thread. I am glad that you made an account on FF. I hope that you understand that the views posted in this thread are not the views of every member of this forum. We tend to be a little more lax in what we do on this forum, therefore this thread has been allowed to remain. We encourage sharing information; however if someone chooses to keep knowledge to themselves, we cannot force them to tell everyone. I hope that you will continue to post your knowledge and opinion on the forum. This forum has a lot to offer to those that seek help, advice, and information.

The simple fact is, this information was not going to remain a secret forever. I do not see a problem with members sharing information, how else will everyone learn. I will stay out of the battle of who should say what and what should be kept quiet. However, the fact remains that this information is becoming common knowledge. Learn to accept it and continue on with your game play.

Also, a side note to everyone posting in this thread, please remember to keep your comments from coming across as flame-baiting, or it will have to be closed. I would hate to see that, as the knowledge and information in this thread is beneficial to some.

I don't get it. I absolutely don't get it. What is the point here?

IMO, the drop rate of certain items (Ie. Blue Weps) is random and is done by numbers generated in-game. Even if the information on how to increase the chances is posted or not, is that really gonna stop all the bots? No. They'll just keep coming, and there's nothing that you can do about it except report them to GMs. If you want to deal with the bot problem, don't do it by obstructing the knowledge that other players can benefit from, do it by reporting the bots.

I would like to point out that the information given is totally false.

All game item drop mechanics are handled server-side.

The chance of getting a green item is determined by a random generator. However since computers cannot seed a truely random generator there can be a chance to predict the outcome.

Given that, the chance for actually recieving a blue item (elderine/roumen/uruga rings and necklaces, or other blue weapons), are incredibly low despite what you may think.

It is true that the dungeons have increased drop rate percentiles. However, only the chief monsters themselves are given a high "rare" drop rate percentile (although questionable due to the fact they have messed up the green drop rates for weapons below level 60.)

The cash shop item(s) may increase your chance but your still facing the odds.

But honestly, if this were really true I would have a Rage of cainance by now, and members from high-levelled guilds would have thoroughly exploited it by now. Bear this in mind. If blue weapons could really be dropped at that rate you would see most of them in Elfenlieds shop by now...

I thought this was common knowledge.

Everyone I talked to seemed to know where the Blue stuff dropped, but didn't think
the time required to get one was worth it (so true) .

Also "screenshots, or it didn't happen."

i think what he meant at 1st other than the bots is also for himself, not others, cuz wen the people start farming them and they become more common, ull find people bein kind and reducing the price greatly and eventually permanently so it will kinda make the blue weaps just 1 step above the others, instead of crazy rare. but really how many people read these forums, a couple hundred? so this whole thing was kinda blown outa proportion(i guess, there may be a buuuuunch more people that read these, but i havent noticed, i see the same names a lot), that is unless they start advertising on the main forums.

but like i sed, its jus my guess thats what he/she was thinkin

buuuut i do thank the person for sharing, and im not agreeing with lieing about it. jus puttin a lil reason on y he/she may have overreacted.

Hmm, this is the way I see it:

People that have the information have the right to keep it to themselves. However, they should understand that that information isn't going to be kept private forever - like Spirit said, it won't be a secret anymore if it starts to be spread around. Knowledge of where the item is and which monsters to get it from may be kept by the person who know's it - acknowledge and respect their privacy. So what if people don't want to tell everyone what they know? It's common courtesy to stop bugging them. If they want to share, they'll share it. Sooner or later, it will become known.

Secondly, I do not think there will be people farming for these items. People are people. Is the time spent on acquiring these "blue" pixels really worth it? For me, I say no. As AngellicDiety said, it's called "rare" for a reason. When you're hunting bosses or have CS items, you just get more chances of finding a "rare" item. You still need to accept the fact that it is still "rare", meaning that you might not get it. Otherwise, every tenth shop would have that item.

As for bots, I think that they might potentially become a problem. They're mostly not player controlled, so they could continue on for days just killing the same monsters until they get a drop. I don't often see a lot of bots though =/ and still, it's a "rare" item, so the chances of getting a blue item should be slim.

That's my input on this.
