well but if i play for lets say 1 hour, then set up an afk vendor for maybe an hour before i return, then play for another 2 hours they would say i have been playing for 4 hours when i only played 2...
|
Yeah, I always have the game running, or well, running alot, but it doesn't mean I'm on.
|
LMAO. The first person to get Fiestaoholic or whatever title is sure crazy.

lol, idk too much about the rest of my guildies, but yeah i'm the one from the original post obviously.
I work from home, I'm a free-lance programmer. So i have plenty of time to play and work at the same time. In are 20 hour sessions we take tons of breaks, every 2 hours is a 15 minute break minimum. We also allow each other to leech for an hour if needed to go do something irl. And once again, I'm doing it because I dont have the sparkcash to spend on a lvl 70 BLUE +9, you realize that not only is the BLUE weapon extremely rare, but getting +9 on lvl 70 gear will either A- require TONS of in-game gold. (you'll break constantly) B - require Red/Blue perfects and about EASILY 50 each of them C - require Red/Blue/Gold and about easily 25 each of them. It's whatever, we have fun, it's hard, it's boring, but we have vent so it's fun as well. |

How is this rare bunch of pixels worth the time lost to get it? |
Exactly.
|
What time am i LOSING to get the weapon?
Personally i do like grinding hardcore to a more dreadful extent then others. So the only thing I'm doing different then you is enjoying my hobby for more hours per day is it not? |

True, people may become a bit obsessive compared to others, but if they are taking enough breaks, and that their health is not affected negatively (mentally and physically), then it is really their choice. We can't really question about it. It's just a personal preference, I suppose. |

This happens in a lot of games. One of the most notorious of these games that cause deaths is wow. There are variety of reasons why people can and are willing to devote so much to just a videogame. It may range from a lack of ambition to a lack of any hope in anything to live for in real life.in which they try to hardest to become the best even if it drives them insane. I quote a news story i found on www.onrpg.com A wow player who was beaten by another wow player online "became a fire The point is, there are dozens if not hundreds of people who take thier mmo extremely seriously to the point where it just becomes their only aspect in life mage in real life"(from the guy himself) and dosed the other player in gasoline and lit him on fire. Don't get this the wrong way, If a person chooses to spend so much on one video game I could care less. Am I saying that all hardcore players are phycopathic/insane? Heck no Am I saying that all hardcore players are pathetic no lives? No Can competitiveness get out of hand even in a free video game? Yup Recently though lineage2 made "relax servers" where gameplay is limited to around 4 hours allowing people with less time to still be competitive. |
I also agree with Blaaaahs. How you spend your time, is not others business. However, I can say it is kind of sad to get too addicted. What can you ever get out of a game? Even if you could win a real-prize or something, you must remember all you are is one of a million that is too reaching for that goal. Out of that million, only one or a few will ultimately reach the top. And then what? You are left with pixels ;D EDIT // agreed with rokaraged =D Good opinions ;O |
