What annoys me though is Trick or Treat is slowly becoming more popular in Australia so if someone comes to my door next year I'll give them something nasty (Not poisonous just nasty)

Because the worlds all out to get people right?
Halloween is such a fun holiday and its one that is simply about fun.
I LOVED going trick or treating as a kid. And now I still love getting
dressed up and going to a party...

last nights best costume prize was a 60 pounder xD

The anti-Halloween people remind me of trolls that don't want to come out of their cave. I know a lot of gamers are a bit on the anti-social side, but it's really fun. Since it seems nigh everyone on this forum is obsessed with Asian style animation...think of it as socially-accepted cosplay, in the open air (no traditional cosplayer smell!) AND you get candy! Or drunk, if you happen to be an adult. Or, hell, both!

Is that how you celebrate Halloween where you live? :zomg:

I live in a very rural area, but the my general routine here is I get dressed up (some parents do, some don't...I do) and head to town with my kid, where tons of people walk up and down main street with their kids, going door to door. It's almost a sort of block party/street fair feel to it. Laughing, playing dress-up, getting candy. Then, once it gets a bit later and the kids had gotten a lot of candy, it kind of dies down. Then I'll either drop my son off with his mom or my mom and hit some adult parties, where the adults are dressed up and drinking and having a good time. Halloween is the only holiday I really like. Well, aside from Mardi Gras.

Sounds like Hrae lives in a very close knitted community...

I dont even know the people 3 houses away from my home so... its a bit hard to trust even just the street... unfortunately...

and since australia has never had halloween... all the halloween stuff here are just a commercial / marketing plot... LOL

Halloween has been really fun here. But... not necessarily because we are going trick-or-treating or like eating candy. x)

Does your house float in mid-air by any chance? :cheeky:

LOL @ j00! :nahnah:

No, although a floating house would be cool. I live in a semi-rural area where few people go trick-or-treating because of the distance between houses. Even though it is less rural than it was when I moved here twenty-three years ago. Back then there weren't even houses across the street. :gasp: There are two houses over there now, but they have no kids living there.

Kinda sad, yeah, because I have always, always, always had treats available. And good treats too! Usually I get stuff I will eat since I don't expect to run out. :arg:

And when Spirit was a child there were some kids across the street and one street over, and they would all trick or treat here, but then they got too old for it and now no one. But I still have treats available, just in case.

I wish more people would realize Australia is not America we dont celebrate Halloween. I know people are trying to but lets be honest Halloween =/= Australia. Its like Australia celebrating the 4th of July so awkward and not going to happen.
