What I hate is when I barley log on and all of a sudden people are asking me 'buff please'...give me a break i just logged in let me get time to figure out where im at. Also i hate when im on my mount and somoene ask for a buff...dont you see im off somewhere to do something? lol...people fail to understand this

jarredacs 03-21-2010 04:57 AM

I can acutally buff now but in the lower lvl's of course when i couldn't I was still getting begged for buffs in whisper >.> so annoying. If I was wearing the lvl 20 armour what makes you think I can buff like a lvl 47?

anyway I completely agree with everything I only ever buff and heal people who are nice to me. If someone is rude to me in a kq i don't care if we fail i stop healing them altogether

btw i'd like to mention cleric + mage = awesome pt me and my friend duo all the time we have made so many lvl's im lvl 49 on my cleric now in a matter of 2 days

Just today someone walks up me (while I'm on my mount) and says "bboof plz"

??????

I replied, "Say buff please and then I'll buff you."

He says, "bbuff pleze"

I roll my eyes, but say "Close enough -.-" and buff him. No heal tho.

Hessah 03-21-2010 10:29 PM

"I don't have any bboof bai!"

Is being 'male' make a difference to ze spammahs?

My cleric is my only male charater. (I am a girl) I find people don't expect a male cleric to be as sensitive to their needs. (although this view could be biased by other factors) Also allows me to tell off idiots who keep spamming me without seeming unladylike.

I want to try that out. I'm gonna make a male cleric (I'm a girl, too) and see if I get spammed less. Err... But that means I'm gonna have to transfer my nubular fem-cleric's items to him... :cries:
Oh well. The things I do to get a chance to yell at newbs, when in secrecy I have LOTS of experience under mah belt. :uhoh:

My new personal favorite are the people who are grinding in the same area you are and come to ask for a buff while you are engaged with mobs. I will give them a buff anyway, since I rarely refuse anyone, while I'm attacking. The fun one was last night, when an archer that was kiting an area beside me stopped for a buff, and then said,Why did your HP go down and back up?" My response - "Since you spoke proper English and said please, I switched into my safe set and gave you a higher buff.":laugh::laugh:

Nice! :p Same with my Firmanent set, I don't wear the whole thing because it has no stats. :p

The best thing happened yesterday, I'd created a new character named 'South' and my friend's name was 'North' He was leveling with me. :p We walked by a lvl 100+ Guardian in forest of tides, and she sees our names and buffs us both, including the revive after death buff :D I thought that was so cool :p I'm totally going Guardian.

lafftar 07-13-2010 09:01 PM

lol thats cool i dont have any set items though and i dunno where to get them

Silent Wizard 09-18-2010 10:33 PM

the lev 75 life set drops in GHS and you need all three peices for the 25%
buff increase

the 85 safe set drops in DT and you need only 2 peices\

BTW if your target (including yourself) applies a vit/ment scroll BEFORE having an end buff of ant kind the +25% will apply to that as well.

An existing buff can be deleted by right clicking on your buff status bar. If you target is wearing a vit scroll and is already buffed you can have them remove their buff, equip your safe/life and then rebuff them.

After 95 it gets old switching gear during the grind not just for the lesser defense but the time and keystrokes as well but your pt will appreciate it.

Spirit 09-19-2010 11:38 PM

I put mine on my quick bar beside my buff, both sets. So it is click, click, buff, click click - back to regular armor. But, yes, in the heat of the battle, it is hard to keep up and I have found myself without my armor a time or two, lol. :zomg:

Hessah 09-19-2010 11:41 PM

OOOOOOoooooooooooo That explains why my archer sometimes had 5200 HP and some other time had 5500hp from the same cleric!

Kaini 09-20-2010 10:05 PM

LOL, yup Hessah, change of armor xD

Eloren 12-07-2010 03:53 PM

I need to rant about people who don't respect how hard clerics have to work in parties. I was in Dragon's Tomb the other day with a mage, an archer, and a fairly squishy fighter who thought he was a great tank. We managed to get through the entire run, largely thanks to my epic healing/reving/backup tanking at Cornelius, and the fighter had the nerve to insult me afterward because he died twice. Give me a break, people. :hulksmash:

Also, I love that the code for that angry honeying is hulksmash. :D

buu, that's tough. >: Clerics are commonly scapegoats in parties, rofl. n-n; Like if a fighter bursts into flame and dies, it's not because he's not scrolled/has bad armor/pulled too much, it's because I heal badly.

Blaaaaaaaah 12-07-2010 07:17 PM

I find that this happens as a support role in any other game! They're usually under-appreciated =( But then it makes you appreciate those who praise you like a goddess for keeping them alive LOL!!

Wizardcool11 12-08-2010 06:15 AM

i only have one char which is a cleric so i feel ur pain... i was the top and only healer in a goldhill and the full str axe fighter in my pt said:

1. my heal was sucky cuz he died 4 times
2. clerics were selfish cuz they rev themselves instead

Not to insult the entire fighter class, but his low INT is probably the reason he said that...:hulksmash:

AVTXL386 12-09-2010 08:47 PM

Elderine. level 47+ cleris will learn quickly to fear it. I was there the other day and watching a high level cleric buff. right before, she shouted, "Buffing at Shuitan for one minute before I leave. I will only buff you if you say please. plz is not a word." guess how many people bothered to say it out of the 50+ people there? maybe 3.

The day before there was a 46 mages shouting out for about 20 minutes (and maybe more after I left) for a buff. considering how he was asking, no, no, *crosses out word demanding it was no wonder no one buffed him. fight befre I got off he declared all the players who have clerics must have died, cause he was so awesome if they were alive they would buff him in an instant. I shouted some not nice things at him and put him in his place. including that he needs to raise a cleric to over 47 before he ever asks for a buff again. then I logged.

what is it with buffs and stupid people? why cant anyone besides clerics learn to speak in complete sentances? (if I ever ask for a buff on an alt, I do it RIGHT!!! and guess what? i get buffed.)

heres a hint for the people who can't get it: [insert clerics name here], may I please get a buff from you?

if no (not likely unless youve had a history of rudeness) they were probally out of SP or were about to leave. someone else will be along shortly and you WILL get buffed if you sak like this

and remember, getting buffed is a privledge, not a nesessity.

Same. I always take a moment to type "____, May I have a buff please?" If I'm on one of my alts. A Guardian even gave me an auto rev buff once for asking so nicely.

You are exactly right. I fear eldy like the plague (being a lvl 86 cleric with very shiny weapons, I seem to attract newbies like moths to a flame)
I'll buff on the world plz, because I don't have enough patience to ask them to type please, but if someone says pl0x, I'll just silently stare. Doesn't typing a pl0x take longer than a please? Seriouly. WHAT IS A pl0x?

Rarely does someone ask me like I ask other people. If they do, I always tell them you're welcome and give them all my buffs rather than just the HP buff. I wish more people asked like that x3

Hessah 12-09-2010 09:22 PM

Like what AVTXL386 said.. there are some that are worse than pl0x.. it's those ones that just yell "BUFF ME AT SHUTIAN!"

dude.. after your shout, I'm totally staying away from Shutian..

SakuraSweetStar 12-10-2010 12:19 AM

o_e I was weirded out when some people asked me
for a buff one day, when I was Lv35. I buffed them with
what I had, and they replied "No Hp, Sp Buff?" I replied
"No, not high enough yet, sorry." And the whole pile
ran away. o-o

Guess I shall start.
'buff plz.' God how I hate those words. Scratch that, one and a half words. I am barely a level 26 Cleric and I already get bugged for buffs. I usually ignore the 'buff plz.' If I'm lucky, they will spam me with whispers! Wee! I simply reply, in a full sentence: "I am sorry, I am not that high level and do not have any buffs to give you." ...
'buff plz'
WHAT THE HELL? Seriously? Are people that thick headed? I miss the times when no meant no and people had no clue what 'u' or 'y' meant. And oh, how I love to get a 'heal me'.
That isn't asking. It is demanding. Adding a question mark would have been asking. But no, he demanded. So I run off, ignoring him. Then he actually takes time out of his busy grind schedule to follow me. Oh how I wish to castrate him. I heal him and he runs away. I guess that wasn't too hard. Well, here I go to do my quests. Lalala. Oh look, a party invite from him. Refuse. Back to quests. Lalala. Oh look, another. Refuse. Another. Refuse. Another. REFUSE DAMNIT. Then I whisper not so nice words to him. Why is it that now days, people can't feel safe by themselves? What did people do before Clerics even came along? THEY USED THERE OWN MEANS OF SURVIVAL. I have played a game where there was no healer or pots you could buy. Wanna know how many times I died? Ten at most. Not that shocking? I was a level 50 mage. Mages are squishy. Now be shocked. You do not, I repeat, do NOT need Clerics to live. Sure, we help, but do not rely on us!!! It isn't smart to annoy us either. Every Cleric you piss off is one heal or buff you won't get in the future. Sucks to be you.

Now, lets move on to KQs. Remember, I am only 26. I would LOVE to hear some of the higher level Clerics rant.

KQs. Kingdom Quests. I like them. Small group to work with, nice EXP and drops. But the idiots. Oh the idiots. It is hard work being a Cleric in a KQ. I mean, everyone is running ahead, some are staying back. It is hard to heal everyone. I only heal my party. Screw everyone else. My main priority is me and my party. They are the ones getting EXP for me, not everyone else. Usually, I am the only Cleric involved in a KQ, So I frequently get 'HEAL' or 'CLERIC HEAL MEH.' I don't unless they are in my party. Sorry. Oh well. Then they die. Of course, I revive them. I won't just let them sit there. We do need to finish, after all. I revive them. And what do I get? "dum nub cleric lern 2 heel"

. . . :urweird:

Wow.

Mara KQ is the worst KQ for clerics. People were constantly bugging me to rev them. Most of the time I was the only reviving cleric or cleric, period, in the KQ.If you get lucky, you're in a KQ with someone who knows what they're doing and you devise a plan before going in to find Mara. But other times, people start racing ahead and everyone dies. And back then (in that KQ), it seemed that no one knew to rez clerics first. No clerics in a KQ/clerics all dying = will almost surely fail.

Yesh I want to smack him in the face too..

I did see a lvl 5x cleric yelling for a buff in Uruga.. I was thinking DUDE You can buff yourself!!

Brossom 12-10-2010 04:57 AM

I hate it when I buff someone with my newbie buff and then they race over to another cleric with higher-level gear on and ask for a buff again. It's like my time and effort to buff them wasn't worth anything. I appreciate that they want the highest buff they can get (hey, even I appreciate having a higher-level cleric's buff on me), but it is kinda insulting to have them treat us like we're not good enough after we do them the courtesy of giving the buff they wanted.

When I do buff people, it *****es me off extremely when they walk over to a higher level cleric and ask for a re-buff.

and all you non-clerics need to remember: a buff is a privledge, not a nesessity. if you don't lick my boots to make up for all the *****-heads I have to put up with, your not getting MY buff. :hulksmash:

(ok, you don't have to lick my boots, just ask nicely in a complete sentence)

Euphoria 12-10-2010 09:23 PM

Rofl, people who have played a cleric 47+ before are definitely more polite when asking. :p Go figure.

I had one guy ask me once to "buff [his] face." I was confused but buffed him anyway. Then like 10 seconds later he whispers me and asks "do u have bonus set on :I"
Me: "No..."
Him: "can u put it on plz :I"

I think I would have paid gold to be able to bash him right then and there. >> or at least purge my buff away D:<

lol not to mention those ones running in circles around you asking for a buff or those who just never get down of their hobby horse/mount and move here and there making it harder to target them.
whenever i am going to ask for a buff i always get down of my mount and ask "May i have a buff please?" and whenever i get buffed i always say "thank you very much ^^" many clerics have said "no, thanks to you for being so polite i'd buff you anytime =)" it is not about being mean when you dont buff people, some of them just dont understand that you should respect those ones who can help you. I'd never buff one of those "BUFF PL0X!!!!1!!one!!1!!" XD

Wizardcool11 12-10-2010 11:51 PM

my cleric was in MD and I was lev 55. I buff everyone t1 and they flame my buff, asking why I wasn't 4 legs higher. then an archer poisoned the boss and did 7dps. eveyone knows that's tier one and when I ask why, everyone says it's better than my buff... I would have paid 150 bucks to a gm to ban the whole lot...

SakuraSweetStar 12-11-2010 01:14 AM

I don't get why people ask cleric's when they're lower than 47.
Although, It's awkward when I'm on my archer, & my friend just
sits there painting her nails, using her cleric to buff me. Everyone
walks around here asking for buffs, when she's not even looking
really. Then I go "She's afk, sorry. :c" They reply "Liar! She just
healed you a few minutes ago!" People are aggressive over buffs. :c Lol

I would pay a gem to one-hit him in pvp. while he tries to escape. and I smash him and smash and smash. . . for at least 5 hours.

edit: keep at clericing and if you go HK, you can follow him around and remove his buffs til he begs fo' mercy
