unless these sites are hosted and serviced in the same country as the game... its a tough caught case... and probably a really really expensive one too...

In GunZ, MAIET Entertainment threatened to sue individuals who owned private servers in both the United States and Europe.

They were based in Korea. The lawsuits are generally expensive, but the threats provide the same results, at a marginally lower cost.

Ryoji 10-15-2007 03:36 AM

It's not too hard to sue across country, no matter what by agreeing to the ToS you agreed to everything that is written there regardless of where you live.

Hessah 10-15-2007 03:54 AM

if a threat works then by all means.... i wont argue with anything that works

i've studied this area briefly for one semester at uni... and i jsut remembered being taught about this whole jurisdiction thing... kekeke i didnt remember much... but country boundary has a bit to do with it...

for example... like America hv a free speech thing right? (you can say watever u want... call famous ppl names.. accuse them of stuff...) and there's no law that allows u to sue the person who's saying stuff..

in Australia we've got a law for defamation... and if someone in america published a book that accuse an aussie for doing something... the american may be protected by the free speak thing, but at the same time the aussie has the right to sue the person under the defamation law...

so wat do u do there? complication.... i dunno wat happened in the end.. XD the may hv ended up in sueing the person taht imported the books into Australia.. and ban the book from being sold here.. or sth like that...

but just to show u the flow and the complication.. the difference in law MAY prevent one company to sue another...

Ryoji 10-15-2007 04:02 AM

Well if the book that was printed had a bunch of lies in it than you can sue without a problem.

But I'm pretty sure internet laws work a little diferently than normal ones.

Of course they do.

The United States government is scrambling to find a way to place a tax on internet transactions.

It's pretty pathetic how our government has deteriorated.

Even our money is worth less.

Hessah 10-15-2007 04:06 AM

yeah hmm it probably does...

i think they're slowly changing it to protect the producers of the media....

hence kazaa and nepster that kinda stuff are gone... i guess

HAHAH well anyways!! watever works... in the end it just benefits us players....

Take me with you! The U.S. sucks and i've always wanted to move to Japan. ;-;

Ryoji 10-15-2007 04:44 AM

I visit once or twice a year with my friends family and it is much better over there for sure. So me an him decided that were moving there permamntly.

On topic today I saw a bot spamming normal shouts and it spelled Fiesta wrong which made me laugh, they are trying to make money and can't even spell the game correctly.

Hessah 10-15-2007 04:48 AM

normal shouts? there's a special shout? kekekeke

so they've made the 6 lvls and is doing it in shout mode?

Ryoji 10-15-2007 05:02 AM

Oh damn sorry about that the confusion that one spammage I did see was just normal chat, but I did see a shout not too long ago that was shouting for a site. So I'm guessing that they are lvling to lvl 6 or whatever now :o

Hessah 10-15-2007 05:14 AM

have they placed more bots around town so that it's covering all areas of town?? (instead of 1 bot with shout for an entire town)

i think the bot name changes all the time too....

Ryoji 10-15-2007 05:18 AM

Yeah there is like atleast 7 bots there and a couple are uhm "talking" ,for lack of better term, for the same site.

And they have to change the names of the bots, I'm pretty sure the GMs ban the bots who keep shouting or "talking". Atleast that's what I think is going on seeing as I have never seen the same bot twice in a few hours.

Hessah 10-15-2007 05:23 AM

hehe u know how there's a bot in Elderine... right behind the storage guy..

last time i saw the bot running away... i thought that was pretty funny to think that someone's actually behind that computer clicking on a mouse (you know.. like osmeone is bored and is trying to run around elderine with it)

the i never saw bot again.. (he was a fighter).. he's been replaced by a mage that's "surprised" every few seconds....

Ryoji 10-15-2007 05:43 AM

That's awesome!! Bots are really little children being forced to press a button for hours on end D:

Also today some guy wanted the World Dj title or whatever the last one was and he shouted "." for like 5 hours I swear. That was kidna annoying though...my dream is to have the "Speechless" title....Or a mime title =3

Hessah 10-15-2007 05:47 AM

where was he shouting at??

i think if u want to spam for teh World DJ title.. curtesy says u do it in Echo Cave keke

but wat's annoying was this girl was trying to get that title in echo cave.. but instead of saying "hello" or "." she was like "HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

which took up two lines and i had to as her to reduce her !!!

Ryoji 10-15-2007 05:50 AM

The guy was in Roumen shouting... I just assumed he wanted the Dj title but he could've just wanted any title lol.

Hessah 10-15-2007 05:55 AM

kekek yup i get the flow....

spamming shout for shouting title....

i still liked it how someone did a
"/s sry going for title 610"
"/s sry going for title 611"
"/s sry going for title 612"
"/s sry going for title 613"

keke..

Ryoji 10-15-2007 05:58 AM

If someone actually counted to 100,000 in shouts I would fly to thier house and give them a hug...

Hessah 10-15-2007 06:03 AM

XD i think they'll be too brain dead to feel it though....

Ryoji 10-15-2007 06:14 AM

Well anyone who has the time a patience to do that deserves a hug. Probably some sleep as well...

Lyoven 10-15-2007 04:33 PM

"/s sry going for title 610"
"/s sry going for title 611"
"/s sry going for title 612"
a simple macro. deserves a kick in the... not a hug, imo

Izanagi 10-15-2007 07:59 PM

1) We have more than the lvl 6+ to shout feature in the works, I cannot release details though.
2) If I see people spamming for World DJ, I can and will ban them for flooding. It's against the ToS agreement. Nuff said.
3) There is no courtesy for spammers, and I have a very small amount of tolerance for them.

toolrocket 10-15-2007 08:10 PM

Nice. Thanks GM.

.o0O0O0o. 10-15-2007 08:12 PM

We should have an event called "Find the spammer" lol.

LMAO
Yes, once a week. We should be able to attack and kill them for a 2 hour period. Anybody who has spammed more than a certain number of times in a given amount of time. We could get points for killing them, and get a prize at the end. That would be fun.

Hessah 10-15-2007 11:13 PM

ohh its a bot? XD it didnt cross my mind that they would change the text all the time... but anyway

Hmm... do the GMs need us gamers to "help" find these bots by any chance? (like report names...?)

or GMs hv it all under control...?

Ryoji 10-16-2007 05:35 AM

OMG...

I didn't think I would see it..

Hessah 10-16-2007 05:44 AM

LOL hmmm he sounds polite enough.... (except i dont like his CAPS, its not like he's not loud enough already)

and others are suggesting echo cave too! haha probably coz ppl arent there for more than 10 mins at a time... and very few ppl are there.. not a big chance u'll distrub a lot of ppl...

i was with some random person there once... was shouting random stuff with him.. but only hv the energy to get to the annoncer title LOL any others are just too much pain...

MagesRequiem 10-16-2007 05:59 AM

How exactly are you supposed to get any of those titles without spamming? The only person i've ever seen with the World DJ title is some kid named "Cake". And I doubt there's anyway to earn that title without spamming. Even I can't talk that long.

Hessah 10-16-2007 06:04 AM

someone on this forum (was it yosei..? i cant remember) literally had a conversation with someone over shout...

i think i saw part of it.. they were doing it in Mist...
