@Loveless

yeah, the dice are now my mortal enemy. >[

@swoss

titles? none? D: if you mean did I get the failing titles, no. I passed each part on first try, as I was recording them "live".

@en

yeah, xD they cant really be that frail I guess since fighter is the only class who can easily keep most of the mobs on yourself. I'd imagine the other classes have it hard enough as it is.

How do you reduce the size of your Fraps movies...they`re so big in normal state!

Lilian 03-15-2008 01:54 AM

thanks lvra. I guess not everyone reads through the thread.

what do you mean reduce? do you mean filesize or the resolution of the video?

Ownage 03-15-2008 01:55 AM

Filesize & resolution I guess..

Lilian 03-15-2008 02:04 AM

well.. that really narrows it down... :rolleyes:

anyways! let's go through the process:

* I record a video clip with fraps while playing Fiesta.
(video capturing settings in Fraps should be set to "half" and not "full", because fullsized video just isn't practical. it's too big and youtube or the likes won't allow for such resolutions anyway.)

*after I have the clip recorded in Fraps, it's time to edit and compress it.
(this means I use a video editor software called Sony Vegas to open the file, cut, add effects and anything of that sort, and then finally "save" the new file, which in this case is called "compressing" or "rendering")

After this has been done, the final clip will be ready for upload.

Compressing a video is ESSENTIAL because fraps does not compress the video in any way while you record it from the game. (it would take too much computer power to compress at the same time.) The video files will generally be several gigabytes large depending on length of video captured. After proper compression they are generally reduced in size by at least 10x what they were. Usually more.
