The whole thing about the necroposting thing is when you come up to a thread, say 5 pages long (this is actualy what happened to me) And you know alot about what they are talking about. you read and read and read and at the end, you think of things that are relevant to the topic, and have not been covered so im gonna post this info here and hopefully help someone out.

Next thing you know you get a nasty PM for necroposting. I honestly dont see anything wrong with posting in an old thread if the admins actively prune the forums or set it to display posts for a month.

I am not sure whether or not that would be a good idea since it would also kill the guides and questions section, but I'll still bring it up in the staff forum and see what everyone else thinks on this issue.

They are sticky. Every other forum I have been to since 1999 has had old old sticky posts and they exsist for that simple fact that they are sticky. If the vbulletin boards are different, then my bad.

Not all the guides in the guide section are stickied, and questions aren't like that either. o-o'

Me either, haha. But on forums where they don't show all posts, I set it to show anyways so I'm use to looking at the dates. I guess other people just aren't.

I would just like to clarify that, just because there are no punishments, doesn't mean you can do it. You may only do this if you have something new to contribute to the thread, or if you have a good reason to bump the thread.

Posts like "lol yeah" which bumps up an old thread is not allowed, and if anyone continues and purposely necro threads with useless posts like that, it will result in an infraction.
