I think its pretty crazy that we can all feel so sad for someone we haven't even met. But I guess that makes us human. :(

Its the natural fact that someone in the world has been lost, and we get to see who was lost. Any death makes me sad.

I think our sadness also has to do with the fact that we know that somewhere family members our feeling the loss and now his daughter has to grow up not knowing her father. And like Sec said, that is what makes us humans. It is called having a caring heart. When you can feel for someone you never met.
