I agree. If we can see who changed the info on the wiki, ban them. When someone else vandalizes it, ban them. We all work too hard to keep the information current and accurate for some childish fool with no life to simply vandalize it because he/she is bored. If I can have the power to ban, I will take over that end of it. :)

What?! I thought only members could change the Wiki. Well then I agree, change it so that only members can change the Wiki.
At least we'll have them waist their time making an account just so we can ban it ^^ |
where the heck did they get the reason that wiki was "MADE" to be vandalised!
just because you can doesnt mean its MADE for it... some people have twisted minds... |
Alright, it's time to clear up a few misconceptions, it seems.
1. About the Wiki. Our FiestaWiki runs MediaWiki software, which is written in the PHP programming language, and can use either the MySQL or PostgreSQL relational database management system. It's distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License, which makes it free. 2. Editing Being run on MediaWiki software, it naturally retains all aspects of Wikimedia-related appearance and feel. In the early stages of Wikipedia, all users functioned as administrators. Naturally, however, people abused their privileges, which resulted in restricted editing privileges for all users not given the status of Administrator/Sysop (System Operator), Bureaucrat, or Steward, as unidentified IP addresses frequently vandalized. Since your average editor is restricted, he is nevertheless free to edit any page that is not protected, as it was originally Wikipedia's intent to allow all users to act as interim administrators if need be. Ergo, all users still retain the right to edit, but only those ranked Administrator/Sysop or higher will be able to complete administrative duties. 3. Vandalism Being a fansite Wiki, it's only natural to expect some vandals to screw around and be immature. That's fine. We'll ban them, and life moves on. As it's a fansite Wiki, it does not truly merit a bot to sit online all day and revert vandalism, so at its present stage, we rely on users to edit positively. Hopefully that gave a little insight on how the Wiki works. |
i guess the good thing is, its not too hard to change it back to previous version....
we can never get rid of all the asses around... there's a lot of them in life, and there's a 1000x more on the internet... |
