Video evidence of the catchiness of Rock Me Sexy Jesus:

Out of context, it's REALLY out there, but that's sort of the point. Yeah. Hamlet 2. Watch it, heh.

I would have watched Hamlet 2 if it wasnt for the whole Jesus thing...just doesnt click with me...

Hraesvelg 03-10-2009 03:06 AM

In what way?

Zwivix 03-10-2009 03:14 AM

Idk I think I hear too much about Jesus in church and at home. Do I really wanna go to a movie about Jesus, and him doing things that I dont normally think of him doing...Would just be an akward feeling wouldnt be able to enjoy it.

Ah. I think you just might enjoy the irreverence it treats that particular subject, then. Piety doesn't even enter into the picture. In fact, the whole Jesus thing is just the play-within-a-play, which is sort of secondary to the movie itself. It's about the value of theatre and all of its absurdities and lampoons the "controversy" that some shows garner. The play that's being produced in the movie just has the most outlandish things that string it together. I mean, hell, the guy writes a sequel to Hamlet. He thought it was too depressing. So...he uses a TIME MACHINE to revive all of the dead characters. Then Jesus shows up, Albert Einstein has a cameo, there are lightsaber duels...but we don't even really see the play in all it's glory. We get bits and pieces of it. It's just WILD, man.
