Don't get it?
Not about movers but about people asking for buffs. I don't get why everyone thinks people asking for buffs by saying buff pls, or buff plz is rude. It's just a fast way to ask for a buff. Not like they mean any disrespect by it. I don't even see how that can be interpreted as rude. If they said something like give me a buff now or hey you dumb cleric give me a buff, yah that would be rude. I'm a cleric and I don't mind giving buffs. It's what my class is for and I don't mind helping people out. So I was just wondering how this all got started and why people think its rude. Just trying to understand that's all.

It's because it doesn't show enough respect to the cleric when the person asking can't be bothered to type out a sentence. It's more of an imperative declaration rather than asking. "Would you give me a buff?" is ALWAYS better than "buff plz, plz, pls buff" etc.

^When people who could buff were rarer, people used to ask in nicer ways.
The Cleric expends SP and time spent shrooming / a stone + a bit of money to buy a new one. When people ask to be buffed like 'buff plz' or 'buff lol' it can seem to some people that they're not really grateful for the small thing you do by buffing them. Compound this by sometimes having a small swarm of people asking to be buffed and you multiply the small annoyance. Your milage may vary, some may not mind at all but others dislike having to stop every few seconds or being asked to buff at really stupid times. For example, I was on a mover and was on my way through town. A level 2x started following me on his mover and said 'buff plz.' I'd normally get off and buff him but didn't feel like it, this one time. After I did nothing for a few seconds, he swore at me and proceeded to find some other Cleric to do their 'duty' and buff his level-20 butt... It also doesn't help that it usually comes off more like a command than a request. I am in no way obligated to buff your undeserving... It's not really a big deal, though annoying at times <3 EDIT: what Hrae said. |
I see. So when people say buff pls or buff plz most people interpret that as give me a buff now. When I was lower level that is how i always asked for a buff but I didn't know it bothered people. I always made sure to thank them though for their help and their time. I also can see why people would be aggravated but swarms of people expecting buffs. It does take a lot of sp and sp can get expensive. I appreciate the info everyone.

I think I stopped getting off my hobbies to buff people after I read this thread LOL!!!!! Too bad for those that asked me for a buff while i was window shopping..
it is especially annoying when you buff 1 person.. then about 5 others lines up and ask for a buff.. and then you have those people that ask "Anyone giving T3 buff?!" Aren't they happy with just ANY buff? What if I've got T4 buff? Yeah sure, I've got T4 buff, but since you only asked for a T3, i'll just give you T3... |

 It's especially funny when they're like level 0-3x. "Don't you have anything stronger?" "I'm already quadrupling your HP..." |
And those that didnt realise they got buffed...
"buff plz buff plz" "you're already buffed" "oh yeah.... Thanks!" keke those make me laugh |
Yeah it's so stupid now. Sometimes I just pluck down the extra mats or silver for some T3s and don't even ask. Uruga becoming the new Roumen and I hate it.

Yes, the spammers have shown up. Only now, they are buying rather than selling gold. I hope that the new towns will have a level limit to scroll to or enter. |
