Warm/hot water is better for you because it helps food stay longer in your stomach, so you can get the most nutrients out of the food you ate. However, cold water acts a stimulant to your stomach, causing food to exit about 5 times faster, which leads to excessive weight due to small amount of nutrients absorbed originally, therefore requiring you to eat more food in order to supply with sufficient amount of daily nutrient intake.
This is how all those fast food restaurants became billionaires: they almost never serve any hot beverages, only iced drinks with the fast food, which leads customers to quickly become hungry again.
