I 'gree with Evarista. Kinda similiar to my party clerics guide. I'll be glad if you make a new one since I'm too lazy.

@ Evarista

I disagree with the rule that clerics become the worst tankers ever.
The best clankers are the clanks that do not insist on tanking, but are up to the challenge if they are needed. And I have to say, I have met some amazing, amazing clankers that I'm sure NO OTHER CLASS would be able to beat. Not even fighters, the natural tanking class.
These amazing clankers can also keep aggro very well - otherwise they wouldn't be clankers. I don't know how they do it myself, but it's amazing to see a cleric be able to handle 1987236782 mobs without dying.

If you need examples, an example from abyss would be a cleric named Amis. I don't know if she plays anymore, but she is one amazing cleric. Level 51 in the 5x abyss, she went around with our three-member party (consisting of me, Amis, and a mage) and tanked nothing below seventy to eighty abyss mobs. She could heal me efficiently (I was back up tank), heal the mage (who was squishy and was drawing aggro x-x) AND keep herself alive.

An example from KQ would be Blaaaahs. I'm not recommending her from being guildies, but from the truly amazing tanker she is. Here's a model of a clank who wouldn't insist on tanking, but would gladly accept the role of tanking and would tank WELL.

I don't think damage means everything in a mob's aggro. It's taken that highest damage = most aggro therefore = tanker, but then why do mobs stick to clerics like glue sometimes? I'm not sure how they do it, but clankers are really amazing rulebenders when it comes to tanking. With the lowest damage and least offensive skills, they can still handle blahblahblah mob(s) on them while keeping their party members alive.

I agree that clerics are made to heal, but there are clerics who actually come BEYOND just healing. They have the ability to multi-task and awe their friends and party members, so why should they stop at just healing?

>note
But I do agree with you on most of your post content XD Just that some clerics are exceptions.

Also keep a look out for _coy. He's one fantastic cleric.

huh first sorry if i sent out something totally random like an essay on you all of the sudden but it sounded like it was the good occasion to post it.

also, lightning. You are correct because there is always an exception. I myself think i tank pretty well but as you said, i don't insist on taking because i'm a much better help healing i guess.

That essay i wrote was not for ALL clerics but for the very majority of them. around 10% of clerics don't belong in my essay because they are what we call exceptions but i know i should have kept it clear. my bad.

Vasu, you had a cleric guide? dummy why didn't i find it? ><. I like writing essays when i can so if you need some, just say the word ^^

in the end what i was meaning to say was that some clerics forget that they are the only class that can heal, rez, cure or whatever.

Also please not to mention the word ''clank'' again. It just gets on my never cause it really don't fit in my head. I mean a cleric is a cleric and a tank is a tank.

(also, lookie my siggy ^^ )

there seem to be a lack of clerics in the level 5x level... (on teva anyway)

I've just been to 3 MDs, and none of them had more than 3 clerics... though i was lucky on the time that there were only 2 clerics, one of them was very helpful and buff / reved us that's not even in his party.. (omg he's like RARE)

Anyone find that, those who doesnt heal their party, tends to be blind? Or cant read or something? How come they never respond to "Heal the party" and "stop fighting and rev"?

They should just be archers and do auto attacks in a distance...

And nothing wrong with the word "clank"... its just short for "a cleric that's tanking"... when a tank fails to tank (good tanks seems to be as hard to find as a good cleric) a "tank" with healing ability steps in...

i also enjoy seeing tarchers... though I havent meet any lately....

Here you go. It's a pretty old guide, so I won't be surprised if you disagree with some of the things.

Tamashiiryuu 10-08-2008 04:32 AM

*sigh* i loved my cleric i always spam healed stragers who needed it...in the parties that i rarely join i try my best to keep them alive noone ever said thanks hahaha instead they died and left insulting how i suck because i never rev them even when they saw how much the mobs loved me and how the mobs decided to show there love by ambushing me, they would leave not letting me rev them, tose ungratefull ...lovly people

Hessah 10-08-2008 04:49 AM

Many people take cleric healing for granted (hence the no thank yous) and they like to blame when they run into a bunch of mobs and died... >.>

There's no point in trying to rev someone, if you're being attack and is going to die... (i've tried that too many times to benefit anyone XD)

so yeah.. dw! As long as u've done the best you can... those people need to play a cleric to know wat it's like to be one!
