It's cpu hungry, but it's always set to the lowest priority. It will dynamically change how much it uses depending on how much is free; anything else that needs cpu power gets it first so it shouldn't affect the performance of other apps you have running. F@H just uses whatever % is left unused at any given time.

Yea, I ran a few routine tasks that require a bit of CPU usage and can confirm what you said. The net result is that my CPU usage spikes to 100%. However, I don't see any significant performance drop. This should assure anyone who is wondering if their computing would be affected. Second to Pritcher, I'd answer No. You got nothing to worry about. ^^

Okay, I've just re-downloaded F@H, and it doesn't show my progress in the Display window? It just shows this fancy picture which I can grab and rotate at will. If I let my mouse hover over the icon in the system tray, though, it does show the progress. This normal? It wasn't like this with my previous client.

Also, do I have to keep my net connected whle this runs, or can I disconnect it, and only connect when it needs to upload/download i.e when it finishes a WU?

Bumpity-Bump. Someone help me with my Display?

Lady-Loki 10-11-2008 03:53 PM

I looked at my settings and can't find anything that you change to make it show. Have you tried doing an uninstall & reinstall? Since you just reinstalled it may be that the reinstall was not clean. Try that again and if that doesn't clear it try going to their forum site:

I'm pretty sure that's just the way it is for the display in the new client. I don't see any options in there to change anything for the display either.

You can disconnect while it works. You might want to set it to ask before it attempts to use the network so you'll get a message letting you know it needs access so it can send/receive work. You can set that in the connections tab in the F@H control panel.

Anyways, guys, our team page has an old banner, we need to put the new mini-banner in there too.

Lady-Loki 10-12-2008 12:48 PM

I think Pritcher is the only one who can change the mini-banner.
