Speaking of which, my growing familiarity with kpop came to my advantage! I had to go to a late summer orientation for my college and I ended up getting stuck with a ton of foreign transfer students. And I had this one little girl (she was only 17!) following me around because I guess she assumed that since I was the oldest of the group I knew my way around (I didn't). She was talking about how she was still experiencing culture shock and did a Q&A session with me on stuff like tipping etiquette here and such. But her face lit up like 8D when she found out I was familiar with kpop.
