Should't this be in "All the rage"?

Theres a difference. Everyone seems to just blame Outspark. Why? Because its the company that published the game, its their employees who talk to us and interact with us everday. But do they make the game? No. Do they make the patches? No.
The reason the games are totally different and have different content is because the communities are totally different and one has been out longer than the other. I've played BK, the community is dead. There will be like 5 people tops in Roumen, about 30 tops in Elderine, and 1 person in Uruga. And their ToS is totally different too. They make Outspark look giving when it comes to leniality. With less people comes less hackers and bots, so they don't require as much. However, Outsparks community is a lot more massive, with players of different sorts who want different things. They can't please everyone, and they can't please them right away. Some stuff may need testing, some may need altering for our certain community. Its just pointless for everyone to sit back and complain and assume when the majority of the people have never bothered to ask how it all works. And I don't mean posting a thread and spamming and angrily demanding. I mean PM the correct staff member and request information on how it works. Perhaps they will tell you, if they are allowed to. |

One Word "Siggy"

X-Trap is one of the easiest ones to bypass. OutSpark should know that. Adding X-Trap again will just cause the population of the game to shrink when it already has from the DC hacks. Can't they atleast give us a clue on why they put X-Trap back instead of just leaving us in the dark?

Space'd. So in other words what you're saying is that Outspark has nothing to do with Fiesta and all these mistakes are the fault of OnsOnSoft, correct? Because that is EXACTLY what i'm reading in your post. |
They don't have as much control as you guys are saying they do. X-trap is the program that they gave outspark.
|

Then they should just cut Outspark out of the picture since obviously they can't do anything. |
Quote:
Outspark licenses the game. They can request changes. Bright Kingdom is not controlled by OnsOnSoft. They requested changes completey different from our version and Shine online (both chinese and korean.) Outspark can request changes to be done. They are a client, and there is no way OnsOnsoft is going to refuse the requests, after all they need to put food on the table too. |
I'm not saying they don't have any control at all. This game has its different needs and wants compared to the others, so they can please us. But everyone is acting like Outspark wants to keep them off of the game. It does take them time, from what I've heard. And perhaps X-trap is all that they have. Maybe they're testing a new program, so another X-trap issue doesn't start again.
I'm not being an Outspark a**kisser, but I'm trying to help others get some perspective and maybe instead of just thinking negative thoughts, try to think up what else it could be other than some plot against the players. I've sent a PM to SKiNG asking for an explanation on how they work behind the scenes, so no one else needs to go spamming his inbox now. I've gotten the explanation before, but I can't recall the thread. |
We need to also keep in mind that when dealing with licensing rights and contracts a lot of things will not and do not happen fast. Apparently Outspark bought the license they currently use for the x-trap, and we don't really know how long it may have taken for corporate approval and contract negotiation and other bureaucratic BS, but licensing and such is always surrounded by this. Outspark knows x-trap did cause (and again is causing) problems and they may well be in the process of researching, testing and negotiating something better, but when the massive d/c hacks started happening they re-deployed what they already had a license for in order to provide some type of quick fix to the d/c.
Also, there are many people who had issues the first time around who are not having those same issues this time so they may well have made some modifications to help. Granted, many of the issues still exist and even some new or different ones, but if those who are affected don't take the time to provide complete feedback then they have a harder time working those issues out. And by complete I mean - go to the official forums and find the info on what specifically to report to tech support. Sending spam crap of "WTF?" and "Curses & Pox on Outspark" gets to action from tech support. And don't come back with crap at me about siding with them - I'm NOT - in fact I have a PC affected negatively by x-trap, but I did due diligence and ran as many rabbits on the issue as I could and I provided Outspark with all my information because I want them to be better equipped to remedy this. Thread Title? Yes, Outspark does learn as evidenced by the fact that some people do not have problems with x-trap and x-fir conflicts this time around, but changing things quickly in a corporate arena is not an overnight process. Now, those who post complaints going forward need to start with: Yes, I have done my due diligence and I have fully documented my errors and I provided Outspark Tech Support with the information they need to adequately assess my issue as directed on the official forums for tech support issues. If you haven't and all you do is complain about it then remember, you only get out as much as you put in. |

Exactly.. there haven't been anymore DC hack report since they put it up. Thats good. Thats the main reason why I am not completely against them putting it up. Just a temp sacrifice some people will have to make.
Also.. perhaps they're not telling us what they're doing because the hackers read the forums too. |

Happened several times already. As a matter of fact: Fiesta is not unhackable. (I have read several claims that fiesta is unhackable(by 99%-100%) I want to remember that i can hijack fiesta session. That problem was not addressed until now. And i bet there are other hacks out there. But the fewest are stupid enough braking about it. Because they would risk that they fix the hack. BUT i want the login weakness fixed. Should i start deleting chars of random people just to prove my point? Anyway back to topic: Fiesta is hackable. XTrap will not help against hackers. But at least it may help to remove the annoying botters. They realy annoy me too x.x |
It doesn't help with the bots, but it appears to have helped with the DC hacks.

Proving to the company that you can hack them is between you and them but deleting random characters just makes innocent people unhappy and the company may not react. I don't think anyone should cause that much grief to innocent players just top prove they can do anything. And IF I had a simple clue about how to hack anything I certainly wouldn't be posting it like it was a badge of honor, because it's not - people who post that they can or have lose respect with me. |
well , my reason is that i reported a weakness to outspark that enables me to take over(or hijack) someone else connection. I can do with that connection what ever i want. Sending whispers to his friend, or just deleting the chars. The later is really simple too.
My problem is that such a weakness exist, and is still not fixed. Im a kinda nice guy and never exploited the weakness. Of course im testing it once in a while, but every session i hijacked was discarded right after. So no harm was ever done. And i just think how i could convince oustpark finally fixing the weakness. Deleting some chars would certainly produce some results. And i really respect people share there knowledge. Its not the hacker who makes the weaknesses. There are most of the time design flaws made by the devs. What i really disrespect are people who want to destroy the game. Im also against cheating in an online game. I cheat in single player games a LOT(when i replay), but i never cheated in online games. That just wouldnt be fair. im so offtopic... SRY x.x |
Careful what you talk about @.@
Atleast you reported it. |
There are A LOT in this game that has been reported and not fixed.
You shouldn't be too upset or take it personally that Outspark or the Devs hasn't addressed to your report on such weakness... It's good to know that you've found a problem and didnt exploit it or anything... but I believe Outspark has a lot of other priorities (that not many players can put their fingers on) and they hv limited control over the way the game is programmed.... So as loki said... as much as you'd like the weakness to be fixed, deleting someone's character isn't gonna prove anything.... especially when they cant directly address to the problems themselves... I think just be patient... they claim that we're still in beta... let them fix our stuff (eventhough it's slow... we just hv to be patient) |
I'll stop thinking so negatively of Outspark when they start making less mistakes and more improvements. Never have I seen a company de-rail a game this horribly before. And they say FlyFF is bad. Even though they focus so much on their precious cash shop they at least take care of the issues and are constantly improving their game. I understand that this game is in beta but that excuse is getting very old and worn out. Just because its in beta doesn't mean they shouldn't be adding and fixing as much as they possibly can. Those who are playing beta are more than likely to leave and tell others how horrible the game is which in turn will cause them to lose future players/cash shop whores. They really need to get on the ball and start fixing the biggest issues out there right now. More specifically, the bots. They have been an annoyance since day one and if they could get rid of them then I do believe faith will be restored in Outspark. But until then, they're just about the crappiest company in my book and they're ruining an otherwise awesome game. |
Well fiesta in itself isn't a great game, to be honest. I agree though, they need to start fixing things. This is Outspark's first time hosting a game, I think, (not sure) but yeah they have botched it up pretty damn good. Its still beta, but.. >_> They need to do a serioussss overhaul of stuff.

There are obviously a lot of bugs and glitches that need to be fixed in Outspark Fiesta @__@ Including the botters/spammers. But, really, we can't rate something before knowing what's happening behind the scenes. It's like randomly searching up a page on Google, and finding the worst looking webpage ever. Next day you come to school and you tell your friend about that wierd webpage and he goes, "that webpage was made by a deaf and blind man o__O It's really famous too." You can't judge the finished product without knowing what kind of effort was put into it and by whom. I know that, probably, compared to other games and companies this might be or might not be one of the worst you've played in terms of gameplay, and that we deserve more etcetera, but it's not like Outspark has a massive amount of GMs. They're taking care of two and a half games right now (for me at least, don't know much about Bread N' Butter LOL), and it might be hard for them @__@ Flaming without knowing what's going on isn't really useful. I think Outspark should give us info on what they're currently working on. Like the Developer Notes section in the Outspark forums, I like that very much. Gives us a rough detail about what's going to happen soon, and now they just have to get their timing right. But yeah, when it just comes down to the finished product, it fails at some areas =X |
regular companies only need days to fix a critical issue. The login weakness IS a critical issue. The only think a possible target need to do so,i can hijack his session, is that he selected a server. He doesn't have to do anything else.
And i really fear that outspark just discarded and forgot about my report, because its written so that no one can understand it except people who know how the game operates on network level. So if a gm would read it, he wouldn't understand anything. Unfortunately a cheap and simple solution is not possible, they have to change parts of the login system. |

2- taking care of more than 1 game at once is no issue at all. they've taken the projects so each project's team is independant from the other. Quote:

That too is a tired and overused excuse. We don't have to know EVERYTHING they're doing to know that they aren't doing enough. Hell, i'd be glad to be a GM and i'd do it for free too. I wouldn't mind kicking spammers and bots everyday for free because in the end I know i'd be doing my part to making this game as good as it can be. But again, Outspark isn't doing enough to fix the game and its obvious by the rampant bots, spammers, etc. It doesn't take much to find a solution to these problems so i'm curious as to why its taking so long to fix these things. You know, there are plenty of players who would be more than happy to help fix the problems free of charge. But as I said before, Outspark doesn't care enough to really put some effort into fixing Fiesta. They'll just make a few improvements here and there and laugh at us as we continue making purchases from them and supporting their greed. Ten dollars says that if we were to stop buying stuff from them and continued playing they'd be much more willing to fix stuff. |
Why blame OnsOns? I really don't understand why its so hard to remove a language barrier? Isn't easier to just translate every string? I have no idea why there should be a gathering bug, as it seems to be an important part of the game. If that was one of my games, I would be embarrased at the amount of bugs. I mean why use X-trap, when Gameguard cleary works? Gameguards a bit invasive, but most of you probably already have it installed. The reason it may seem that are more hacks to GG(gameGuard) games, is because GG hackers are much more dedicated, and still most don't get thier hacks working. An X-trap program has multiple bypasses and I am surprised there aren't more hacks going around. This is just laziness and greed. The outspark team probably saw other sites launching games in the US and wanted to make a quick buck. Lauching the cash shop with this many bugs?
|
Its not that simple =/
|
Don't give me that crap that it isn't simple. They just don't care enough to want to fix Fiesta. |
Let see... they dont care... so they implemented PVP ground...
they dont care... so they have valentine events that everyone can change their look they dont care... so they fixed most of the lvl 4x quest they dont care... so they gave out free cash shop items & EXP increase for two weekends to compensate back in Janurary they dont care... so they added SEG and Sand Hill maps they dont care... so they increased the number of Robo KQs |

I don't know about you but the Outspark staff seems to be stretched too thin.
Maybe that's part of it or not but they're hiring new people. |
wat do u mean by stretched too thin? as in like.. over worked?
|
Like they're releasing too much stuff and not enough staff to maintain it.
I remember when we used to have things called events, once upon a time. Can't remember the last one we had. Valentine's doesn't count. |
like this one?
Quote:
As well as not enough staff.. they dont hv control over how the patch works... they really need to be devs to improve the game properly |

hmm I can't seem to find that in the thread without the direct link
/slaps self |
That post was made under Teva's News and Events
http://outspark.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=37 I think he updates the time and date... but the layout of the event (spawn mobs and kill) are exactly the same everytime so he just links it back to an old description |
