I'm opposite of IMDB, if you can say that. My friends forever trying to tell me who an actor/actress in by describing what other movies they've been and the characters they played and I'm always like.... "no I don't think I know that person".

So can I ask about Australian accents? Her's seems a little more "classy" (dunno the right word :uhoh:) than most of the other ones I've heard. Do you guys have a lot of regional accents like England or is it pretty much consistent?

Yeah, that one kind of, though it's more extreme than what I had in mind; I was thinking more of the Steve Irwin type. I was just curious, because the UK is unique in having a different accent almost every 100 - 200 kilometres; and since Australia is also natively English speaking country, I was wondering if a similar situation existed there. But yeah, her accent is definitely more refined and understandable than the other one haha.

I don't think accents vary that much here between states compared to UK, other than those with ocker accents (usually from country areas).

BUT I actually think that accents differ by ethnicity more than anything since a large part of our population aren't 'aussie-aussies'. There's the aussie-aussie accents, the aussie-chinese accents, the aussie-indian accent etc (most are still very fluent though, just very slight differences). Sometimes when you hear people talk on the streets, you can guess what ethnicity they are from the way they talk... especially chinese people (I guess it's cos I'm one myself lol). I don't know what it is - either slight difference in accents or choice of words.

so on the topic of steve irwin, I came across interviews with his 14 yo daughter..
