i play a cleric my self and i need to say that they are a bit overpowered
my girlfriend plays a mage and she is also lvl 17 just like me but some of the epic monsters i killed solo is a problem for my girlfriend i can easly solo them
the heals are realy good i love playing a cleric :D

I can understand how someone would feel that way. Especially in PVP where a cleric can constantly keep healing, but they aren't overpowered. Mages are very very powerful, but have extremely weak defense. Its just however you look at it.

My point-of-view on clerics
 

i think that clerics are,overall, an incredibly powerfull class. I have a lv38 cleric (not even having all the latest spells xD) and i can PERFECTLY solo every monster in Vine Tomb as well as procks, goblin (swordsman, shaman), sand mushrooms and sand ratman in gc...

i can also solo harkans and weak ogres in cp pretty well....as long as i have atleast 1 scroll, sp pots, and preferably endure casted on me...but not really needed....

also...i have 1 character of every class and even though my cleric is the MOST high leveled compared to them all...i have had the most fun playing as a cleric and i think that in the long run...the down sides will decrease and we will only get MUCH more powerfull....:D:cool:

i can survive a mob 20 levels above me if i want... but i'll take about an hr trying to kill it....... (spending all the the time casting heal and in between doing 90 dmg.... while ppl of the same level does double)

im a lvl 52cleric

At the moment my deffence is an insane 780 or so due to all +9 //no boots yet// so even orcs hit me for 90-110 dmg one cast of perodic heal qnd im good lol

my points are going into spr for crits , my wep is green +9 thus higher crits and im maxing a licence on it ^^

Anyway ya we are overpowered but only with the right gear and spec
whereas other classes can deal the same dammage without the crits and +9 wep

Clerics are weak, tbh weaker than a mob in inflicting damage at times. They simply have the ability to take loads of punishment. As for mages being weaker... You should've been on Apoline's server for yesterday's guild war between l60+ mages vs l60+ other classes. It was amazing how a cleric with close to 3600 hp die in a few seconds.

I disagree ... We may have like 4 ways to heal ourselves but think of the things other classes have that we don't :/ Like a pulling ability >o< Every class has one of those but we don't. So for us it's just like a game of cat and mouse while trying to pull 1 enemy at a time ...

No, clerics are deff imballanced...its GREAT, imma lvl 44, and ive taken out a lvl40+mage lvl40+fighter and 4 other small lvl 25+ guys on at once....and they couldnt kill me for 45 min strait...not to mention at lvl 43 killed a lvl 49 mage in a pvp arena..Thier ability to use pots/heal(skill)/and stones makes them soo im ballanced. In my opponion pure STR is the way to go, i out dmg alot of fighters my only real weakness are mages cause they so such huge amouts of dmg, but are killed quickly

Not. We can simply heal with a skill and we have a little better defence than a fighter, but not overpowered by any means.

I don't find that I conserve pots so much. When a couple of King Colls and harkens jump me I can't span heal fast enough so I still use a lot of pots and stones - stones more than pots since they are easier to launch. And in party mode?!?! I truly burn through SP pots with buffs and healing, and let me tell you, those stones are NOT cheap!

I have died plenty in GW, mages whup my cleric behind real fast! And archers snipe me and do plenty of damage making me vulnerable to the other classes.
There is a cost to any class when solo'ing. And as for what other class requires 2 people to kill in pvp? Fighters.

Even with heal you still have to re-gen SP - is that magical? Coz when I use heal on myself when solo'ing I use more sp pots and stones. As for drops, you must have been born/created under a lucky star or number because my cleric does not seem to get that many drops.

As said with the right gear, sadly, we can't all afford that gear, hell I can barely afford sp stones anymore!

This goes back to my earlier comment on [When a couple of King Colls and harkens jump me], when solo'ing I have to cat & mouse and end up with more on me than is safe, so out comes the massive pots stones and heals technique.


Bottom line: Clerics are NOT overpowered. We have a skill different than other classes, but then again, every other class has their specific advantage. Anyone who plays a class other than cleric needs to answer this - if you think clerics are overpowered then why the hell aren't you playing a cleric? Could be because you truly do know the downside to be a cleric also! In the end there is some give and take for any class.

The only time when I think their over powered is when I fight them in a GW, cause they don't need to use hp pots to heal.

I use up at least 40 pots on 1 cleric. T.T

Yes, but it was within the time limit given. After one month, then it is considered necroing. The one month limit is to keep more threads open to encourage more posting. So, it is okay. :D

u see... u took 40 pots trying to kill that cleric.. that means u've been alive for a LONG time to use the 40 pots... so obvious the cleric still couldnt kill u the entire time... if we were really overpowered... u'll be dead a lot earlier...

I'm a warrior, and during that time I was using a cheap [green] 2h. So I didn't have good skill stats to use axes/2h. It would of been a faster fight if I had a good 1h sword.

LMAO only 3 ways that will happen =P.

1. Your character is glytched and u deal an exagerated amount of damage as it already happened with some clerics :)

2. The fighter stands in his shroom not attacking :P.

3. Full end fighter with crappy 1h sword :P.

NO WAY In hell a cleric will outdamage a full str Axe fighter.

So if u had a better weapon, u would've killed the cleric a lot earlier? that proves the point further that cleric isnt overpowered =D

@ Leona - I have seen a cleric hold aggro of a KQ boss (Mini Dragon to be specific), if anyone know, Delilah is a lvl 55 cleric (or the last i saw she was) and she probably has +9 everything, but she does enough dmg to hold aggro from all fighters, DPSers... i dunno if u call that out dmg, but dmg is at least on par..

So u cant say NO WAY, coz she has done it everytime i see her in MD... but it probably only happens if the cleric has full +9 set on... =D -again i'm very nice and i dont mean anything harsh-

There is one way: Cleric significantly outlevels the fighter.


I agree that clerics have the least damage though... they just survive longer, thats all.

I am a cleric and I can't even hold the aggro when partying with an archer 5 levels below me unless i use rejuvenate. (yes, u can hold aggro even without dealing the most damage by provoking the enemy with ur healing spells.)

hmmm, i want to see a cleric that out damages Leona...

As a non full str fighter with a pretty good axe (+9 CG +22 str +21 end +21 dex) i do like 1250-1450 damage, I am a wee level 56 -looks at Leona the 70 something- and I am sure she does a lot more than I do, show me a cleric near my level that does more damage and i will give you my axe =D

I though we disputed this earlier in another fourm..... Clerics Arn't really overpowerd...... They heal therefor they live ...... what else is new?! They can't attack while they heal and they don't do much damage end of dispute <.< ................ >.> -glares- <¤>_<¤>
