They should make a level limit to teleport to elderine at least. >_> *Doesn't care about roumen anyways* XD

Elderine lags almost as much as Roumen sometimes. Gotta love the peace and quiet of Uruga. |

ignoring the problem wont solve it :/
oh, and please lets clear up something. the problem are not the spammers. thats just some side effect. the problem are the money-selling sites and their gold farming bots. if those were taken care of, the spaming would stop as well. im personally not giving a dog's ... about spamming when i see items priced in a way only those could buy who got an illegal source of money. for example, a mate of mine just sold some rare robo earrings (2% crit, 1% aim, 70hp - or something like that) for 250s, iirc. fine for him, he made a good deal, but the example shows smething thats worse then the all day spamming in towns |

Imo, I'd just filter out there site name.

The bots won't be gone unless the GMs do something about it. Just do something like a vote to see if it's fair if they do something like raise the level limit to talk in general to 3. Whatever majority wins, they implement it. They should also do something about the people who use bots to train their characters while KSing other people who play normally. It's really.. really annoying having to try to train while a bunch of people who may or may not be bots themselves KS you over and over while you're trying to play. For example, the training bots in Vine Tomb with a party of 6 are something like that. They should figure out a way to block programs which train a person's character while they're away.

Yes, I am aware that I am being borderline racist, doubtlessly controversial. But it's the simple truth: 90% of gold farming sites are based in China. A few of them aren't bots, but are actual players who don't speak a single English word, and sit around all day farming "legitimately," if you will. I have seen them in person. Also, they have Shine Online. It may not be as good as Fiesta, but it is certainly a version of it, and is definitely more complete. A large majority of the high level players don't really talk in game. When they do talk, it's in 中文, or what looks like random streams of gibberish for a large portion of Fiesta players. Some are courteous, some are not. And then there are the select few that seem to swing between courteous and not courteous by leaving your monsters alone for a few minutes, then suddenly pounding away and ksing for the next two hours. A solution will never be flawless. A portion of the gaming community will be pissed at me for suggesting it, but is a solution, is it not? We will also lose a large portion of rares and those legit, honest players that retain English abilities. Flame away if you choose. |
ok i'll try keep my flame light.... but that is generalising too much....
imagine being denied into a chinese resturant because you cant order in chinese?? its not a crime not being able to speak english... i dont understand why people gets so upset just because you cant understand what they're saying... if they're trying to talk to u in some random language... fair enough... but if they're just talking among themselves...? welcome to the internet, it's world wide and please accept that english is not the only culture and language on this planet. |
Alright, to address each individual point.

Agreed. But I'm not sure that 90% of the bots are from china... o.0 I only can speak chinese. I can't read nor write chinese characters. And I'm chinese...
|
Alright well where I live (So-Cal) I can't go into a mexican restraunt or any fast food joint, that is unless I speak spanish. The people who work there don't speak english at all or if they do they always mess up your orders.
Now I don't believe they should be cut off from the game at all and if that did happen that would be unfair. I'm just trying to show that in "real life" it does actually happen. I don't know what they can do but it needs to be something or else the economy will be really messed up. |

it just sounded like you dont like those chinese speaking people (or watever language other than english) and u're trying to prove that its ok to ban those normal players too coz they happen to live in a country that you estimated the bots to be in...
this is actually the first game that i've seen so many bots in.... in contrary to the point of this thread (but then again i dont play as many game as most of you, but i believe i've seen enough) And i doubt the way they target those bots are to ban an entire country... the only time i've never heard a game ban the IP of the entire country, is when they opened up a new server for that country and wants people to move to it, to reduce lag.... |

Keep in mind I'm not advocating tis particular solution, just proposing it. There is always a possibility that a less drastic solution is available. Quote:

yeah i think they might hv the same crew once this game goes into official opening...
i reckon at the moment, they're more concerned about bugs and errors... hence we're all beta testers.... |
Holy Hell. I was just discussing about this in-game earlier. Triumph has a great idea and its exactly what I had suggested. First of all, isn't this game supposed to be translated from Korean to English? Well, if it is then they have no right to play an English game. Yes, that may seem rude but i'm really tired of them. Let me show you a screenshot of what Triumph was talking about.
http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...eenshot429.jpg Those names look pretty Chinese-ish to me. The game is affected negatively by 90% of the foreign people in it. Some of the high leveled players if not all in Apoline are all Asian. Korean, Chinese, etc. Doesn't really matter. But what I do know is that they need to go. They might not be bots, farmers, etc. but they are destroying the game and ruining the fun of it for the rest of us. |
Until they make a Chinesse Fiesta server or whatever, everyone has the right to play. And if or when that happens they will be IP banned. Until that time whether you like it or not, you will have to jsut deal.
|
heh, even if they open a chinese fiesta, we'll still see them around. You know why? Cause they know that Americans (westerners) are willing to dish out the money to become da bestest, powerfullest, moneyest player in any games. Thus why the chinese will still be in mmos. Hate to say it but some of us americans are too spoiled to enjoy the mmo life and want it all RIGHT NOW!!
|
Well if they did make a Chinesse Fiesta, than all IPs from China/Asia will be banned even if it's the highest lvl'ed person in the game.
But yes Americans in general are spoiled idiots, and when we don't get what we want we pay for it. We believe that money is the solution to everything. Thanks MTV and other things like that for this problem. |

this is not on the subject but i blame the parents for not supervising their own kids wandering thoughts/eyes/mouth/hands and whatnot. I swear we all love to blame something/someone else for our problems when we should just look at ourselves first.
Just i read up on that mother that bought her 14yr old teen a bunch of guns/shotguns. Is she out of her mind!?!? And the kid was planning to do an attack on his school! ZOMG! Lucky they caught him before he made a mess. Anyways, back to your regular programming.... |
What is Shine Online, a Japanese Fiesta?
Thought it was a Chinese version. |
Shine is the Korean version I believe? Or the Chinese.. Bright Kingdom is th Japanese version.
|
I blame MTV for pretty much everything. Oh and global warming I blame too.
Yes exactly it is the parents fault for letting thier kids go buck wild and do whatever the hell they want. Speaking of, if you guys have seen the Condemned it's a really good movie with that exact moral to it. Noone's to blame besides ourselves for allowing such things to happen. We also fund all of it in some way or another. |

I like what Agent Smith said about the human race, how we're like a virus and use up all that's around us then migrate somewhere else and do the same thing all over again. We're Mother Earth's little viruses....

Talk constructively about the bots. Don't rant about issues that have no relevance to them, reading over you both playing the blame game is doing my head in. |

funny, on firefox at home.. triumph's cat dance REALLY quickly.. anyway
i just had a thought... banning IP in china just means ppl in china cant log into fiesta right...? the site and all still exist... all they hv to do is hirer a few geeks in india (one of the other cheap labour nation? that's where we get all our telesales call from) and get them to log in from there... presto! bots on the go again... they can try ban the entire india too.. and ban half the world wherever the bots come from... just doesnt work.... |

Like I said, it's far, far away from a flawless solution. |
It's illegal to do that though. Not that they really do anything about it seeing as there are thousands if not millions of people doing it each day.

Warcraft went ahead and treathen to sue the actual websites. And since then no more "whisper" to get to their website to buy gold. *Ta da*
|
lol, and WoW would've won too because technically it goes against the ToS on almost any game. The Silver Gold or whatever they are selling doesn't belong to them but to outpsark. So by them selling it they can get into lots of trouble.
|
There are approximately 100,000 Chinese players, as of 2005, employed in the gold market business. Yes, employed. Monthly salaries range from $120-250 a month, or roughly 1750 RMB a month. That's a pittance, but some people are desperate.
By default, gold farming and selling is in direct violation of the EULA we all agreed to when registering, but the effort that is required to track down each violator is so great that no sane person is willing to do it. |

do u hear urself contradicting? |
I actually suggested that once that Outspark or whom ever threaten to sue or to actually sue the websites but someone told me they couldn't which, in my opinion, is utter crap.

the thing with those terms and conditions that you agreed to are bounded to those jurisdiction only, usually.
Say, Outspark is based in US (i'm not too sure just assuming XD) and i'm here in Australia.. the terms and condition from a US company may not have any affect on us Aussies. It's extremely hard to sue across country... (which goes in line with wat Mages said...) unless these sites are hosted and serviced in the same country as the game... its a tough caught case... and probably a really really expensive one too... |
