Not reading anything atm. I have something by Danielle Steele that was loaned to me, and I really should read it next so I can return it, but I just can't find motivation to start it. I don't know that I have ever read anything by her so that may be one issue - the fear that it will be something I don't care for but will have to finish it if I start it.

I was reading a downloaded copy of Pride and Prejudice, but can't read that since the PC with it on it is in the shop. Maybe I should just download it to this laptop and be done with the indecision.

Just finished reading Dark Calling and Hells Heroes today BDEX. The end was pretty good, except for how it ends with grubbs gay speach, but I loved the twist that Bec was just acting, she did it well I wanted to go into the book and throttle her myself.

A_Forever 03-11-2010 11:10 PM

Lady-Loki 03-21-2010 02:32 AM

Just finished Mermaids in the Basement (Michael Lee West) and am in the first couple of chapters of The Widow of the South (Robert Hicks).

Before Mermaids I read Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (Gregory Maguire) and it was good enough that I plan to read Son of a Witch & A Lion Among Men volumes 2 & 3 in the Wicked Years series.

And I suspect I will go on to read a fourth book by Gregory Maguire: Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister.

I'm currently reading The Road by Cormac McCarthy.
I like it so far.
Imma try to get my hands on The Swarm by Frank Schätzing after I'm done with The Road.

secbro20 07-17-2010 02:36 AM

Asimov's Foundation trilogy. Currently just started the 3rd novel, Second Foundation.

A_Forever 07-17-2010 02:41 AM

I haven't really been reading this summer. I find that super depressing. Once I get back from Florida next week, I will be reading my AP Physics packet and doing the summer work.

I really want to read Ellen Hopkins' books though. Cranked, Glass, and Fallout (Fallout comes out this year.) Which is a series.

I also want to read Impulse, Identical, and Tricks. Already read Burned.

Tamashiiryuu 07-17-2010 05:06 PM

I have to read Tartuffe by Moliere for this French Lit crud.

AbZ0 07-26-2010 09:04 PM

I'm a big fan of Piers Anthony's Xanth series, and I hit the jackpot when I was on vacation (I found around twelve of his novels, I only had two prior). So, I've been reading those. I finished the first one not too long ago, and am about halfway through the second one (I read it already, just wanted to read it again now that I've read the first). Unfortunately, I don't have the third. =(
But that's okay, what I have should keep me occupied for quite awhile. =D

Loveless 07-26-2010 09:48 PM

Recently finished reading Patricia Cornwell's Book of the Dead.

Another great author with forensic anthropology and getting into the mind of a violent criminal. Though I still love Kathy Reich more... hoping another book will come out soon. ><

Yami 10-18-2010 05:47 PM

I'm reading The Riven Kingdom by Karen Miller atm.

I just want to know how it ends T_T

FiestaFan93 11-14-2010 02:32 PM

Tamashiiryuu 11-14-2010 03:55 PM

Nana by Emile Zola

Vasu 12-06-2010 06:14 AM

Book 13 of Wheel of Time. Called Towers of Midnight. Not sure I like it so much, but I'm just thankful to be getting an ending to the series finally.

Brandon Sanderson just doesn't do as good a job as Robert Jordan when it comes to fleshing out fictional worlds, but he does get the narrative moving forward faster.

monica7777 12-08-2010 07:23 AM

I haven't read a book for a while now but the last book I read was, "First They Killed My Father" By Loung Ung

It was a very sad story :cries:
