Coupla things.

Second, quick question: Is there a difference between plvling and leeching? And if so is plvling always bad? I’ve occasionally aoe-ptyed with a much higher lvl mage in a map that I know I couldn’t handle mobs in, and while I didn’t deal any damage I was spamming heal and restore saving them hp stones/pots. (Another difference might be that I dun always ask to do this and I have no problem grinding by myself in lvl-appropriate maps.)

Last, lol…you could always take them to a high lvl map then warp back? j/k, that’d just be mean:blush:

Anyway, back to your question. Close but not quite.

Leeching is when you're in a party and you just sit there and do nothing. Your party works their asses off to get exp and things but you just sit around and twiddle your thumbs. That's leeching.

P-lvling (power-levelling) is leeching taken to a whole new level. You leech in a high levelled party where you sit there and do nothing while getting lots of exp and the high levelled people are spamming their pots away. Greater gain in this way.

Then again, plvl doesn't always have to involve the newb leeching. Like for what you did, you were responsible for healing the high levelled mage, so plvling doesn't always have to be bad if you're contributing efforts for the party.

So yeap. Leeching is bad unless your party doesn't mind it. Power levelling doesn't necessarily have to be bad but it is generally looked as bad (but again, if the person plvling you doesn't mind then it's okay of course).

mmk...I thot plvl=leech just at a higher level and that the "doing nothing" and "actively contributing" was the distinguishing factor that made it "not bad".

I admit this seems a little unfair towards other classes cause I was able to heal the mage effectively being almost 10-15 lvls lower, while other classes that far behind on that high of a map may not really do much to help?

But yeah, what I said is only the general view I think. Plvl is pretty much leeching if you can't do anything. Only difference between plvl and leeching is the level of the people in your party and the level of the mobs you're training at.

Me and a few others were on our way to Uruga when a fighter asked if he could join our party. I explained that we were working quests and he said that was okay, he just wanted the exp. So, we invite hin, thinking we could use another fighter. He won't attack anything!!!! I finally told him, help kill the mobs or I boot you. So he started helping, but meh!! I was not gonna put up with him riding on our coattails.
