The only reason why grinding is fun for me is because...
1. Grind with all my friends but talk a lot too ^^ 2. To hit a cap so i can focus a lot more on school * getting A's and B's >.>* 3. Helping my friends to lvl if they need my help 4. Being able to lvl with my friends who are at the same level as me. 5. Help all my guildies out ^^ I do even when im still not capped cause there is no rush to capping. There can be many reasons to why ppl wanna cap. Its just ppl who cap want to cause they get that motivation to grind but lose it when they cap. They do other things like lvl an alt or farm greens for some money. Threads like this come up everytime and I dont see why ppl care what other people do unless they are ur friends. A lot of my friends really care about me cause they think I grind too much * I dont now * but really grinding with friends is what makes this game fun to me ^^. So if u dont understand why ppl grind to cap then there is no point to making this thread because it is still a mystery to everyone ^^. Also the fact if ppl say they grind for kq or new equips then let them. It's there reasons and u shouldnt argue with him or make a negative comment about it or making his reason not valid. Sorry this isnt a spam of hatred to anyone I just feel these threads come up too often. |
My comments to Hyper were not negative. I was simply stating my opinion just as he was. I was attempting to keep the thread directed at the orignal question. We have already discussed in another thread that a reason for leveling (not rushing to the level cap) would be to get the new equips. I was not wanting this thread to take that direction, since one is already going about that.
Also, threads like these come up because so many other threads come up about the game being boring and the poeple who are capped being tired of nothing new to do after they cap so they quit. It is a good topic to discuss, not about grinding, but about RUSHING to the top then complaining about the game being boring and quiting. I grind also, but my goal is not to rush to the level cap. I grind with my friends for the same reasons you stated. But agian, it is not about the grinding it is about rushing. My original question was: "Is it worth it to rush to the top just to sit there and be bored?" As I read your post at first, I was thinking, your first concern should not be capping so you can concentrate on your grades, your grades should come first, then the game. But, I have a feeling that you might take that the wrong way. <--- so take that for what it is worth, but it is meant in a good way. Your grade will follow you forever, this game will not. |
Yea i know XD why im getting good grades i think xD.
Mostly i spend a lot more time at school and come on to chat but leaves my char afk and go back to school work. Rushing to cap however well I guess everyone has a pace they want to go ^^ nothing else in my opinion. |
I'm a grindwhore, and I'm not afraid to admit it :D

I just do whatever makes silver in game. If I reach the cap through KQ experience rewards, thats fine by me.
Although, the real reason I want to level is to stay with a midly "competent" group of people in the King Quest. After playing on my archer when I previously capped at 59, I got the gist of what the new generations of 20's, 30's, and 40's were like. It goes something like this: - A "small" group of people who believe the only mara and marlone with a different portait than the others are "fake." - A "small" group of clerics who refuse to heal, and only revive. - A "small" group of fighters who think they are invincible. - A 3 cleric party in a Robo KQ with only 3 clerics. The list goes on. But yeah, sometimes if you dont keep with a group, you get left behind. Nothing worse than doing a Phino or Spider Assault with zero-cleric parties. Not to say that things arent bad at the moment. We actually have a few morons in the King Quest all comming from one very stuck up guild. Those in the King Kong Phino are aware of this. |
^Yeah, add that to my list too.
After I came back from my December break, I was doing KQs with an entirely different bunch of people than when I left. ....it wasn't good. MD success % went from something like 90% to 50% While I'll never be a hard-core, front-of-the-pack grinder, I at least want to stay with a certain group of people. |
I grind coz Spirit shouts "Loki!!!! We need a cleric!"

Not grinding. Grinding is different. My whole thing is why rush to the top to just sit there and be bored and more than likely quit? Would it not be better to slow down that way you are not way ahead of the new updates and by the time you reach that level, the updates have already been released?
But, since everyone seems to think that rushing to the top has to do with grinding, then I guess this is my last attempt to try and clarify the two, because they are different. I grind, I grind in the abyss, I grind in CP1, I grind in Uruga. But, I do not rush to cap out, so that there is nothing to do. My whole thing is what is the point of rushing (rushing, not grinding on a regular basis) to the cap when there is nothing left to do but complain about how boring the game is anymore because there is nothing new. |
As stated before, if you are not a trailblazer, you will feel the effects.
Those at the top do not command the respect of very many, in case some of you do not know. The lower levels may go "oh wow, high level," but after that they all draw the same conclusion: "oh wow, you spent a lot of time." This can either be a positive or negative effect, dependent on the person in question. Consequently, it's ironic and hypocritical when those who demand activeness and participation in their guilds in turn become inactive themselves suffer no consequence for inactivity. Two names jump to mind, of which I will not reveal. You can even look at it as a popularity contest. Those who are active and get to the top are known; those who are not active are not, for the most part. |
I kinda rushed my mage to 58 (almost 59 now, just needed 11% before I got kicked off >.<). If you take into consideration my guildies were 50 when I started it and I caught up with most of them now. Why did I do that? Cause my 51 cleric got boring and I finally got a laptop that I could lvl a mage with (old one was too laggy) and I always wanted a mage. Maybe I just play too much. But I'm sure I'm gonna slow down after hitting 60 for a bit.
