People have already died from overdosing on WoW. Don't over dose on fiesta people, although that'll be hard for me since I get bored easily.

Getting from 59 to 63 is easy. You get a mad amount of quests. Since level 59, I've only done about 3 or 4, not very long, grinding sessions.
I'm getting tired of grinding. I only get about 5-10% til im tired of grinding for the day. I seriously can't see how people can just kill and kill and kill, just for a weapon. Competing to be highest level is stupid really.. whoopedy frickin doo, you're level 79, congratulations, this shows you either have no life, play a game too much, or have so little excitment in your life that a +9 weapon is an accomplishment.
According to Falcomist, this is partially why BR is breaking up. Selfishness and the a strong desire to level, some left their friends behind. Why can't people stop, smell the roses, and enjoy the game. I mean, sure, there isn't much to enjoy anymore, but you can make it enjoyable. Hang out with friends, go screw around, help your lower leveled friends, do KQs, hold player-made events, etc.

I was right, when I first heard of the event. I was like "Thats like asking players to give up their lives for afew weeks". Seems like some have.

Yay!! So what do I do until level 59???

And are you serious? People have actually died from playing video games?

Yosei 01-03-2008 06:18 PM

Years ago(before MMOs were all big and popular) I heard a story of a man who played an MMO. It was the type with open pvp. Someone could start attacking you whenever, and then take whatever you have if you died. He had spent a long time saving up on his money, and then one day someone came up and killed him and took all of his money. He killed himself for it.

Then I've seen a video of a kid attempting suicide over a game, he didn't die, but I'm not going to post the link.

You have got to be kidding? That is ridiculous. At least I know with my husband and kids to keep me distracted, I would never have to worry about that. But, even if I did not have them, I could not see killing myself over a game.

I read the story of the guy in like.. 7th grade. I've graduated now, I can't remember the source. I remember my teacher reading the article to us in class.

Well there was a person also that was playing WoW and didnt eat or sleep or go to the bathroom for I dont know how long. And died that way...

That is just sad..

Yosei 01-03-2008 06:54 PM

Well.. you can't go 3 days without water, about 3 weeks without food, and 1 week without sleep(so I've read). But the sleep thing varies..
If someone didn't sleep, eat, or go to the bathroom, I'd guess they'd last about a week before something serious happening to them.

Spirit 01-03-2008 07:12 PM

Okay, seriously, that is just sad. No game is worth all that. Even on the weekends when it seems like I am on all day long, I am afk a good bit doing laundry, cleaning house, or chasing kids out of trouble. I have never sat in front of a computer that long and cannot see not eating, sleeping, or going to the bathroom. I mean come on, once again, I say that is just sad!!!!

Aside from the two articles Yosei posted, i'd say most of the stories you hear about people dying are just urban legends. Sure does make you wonder though... maybe i should get a dog or some plants or something... lol
