Does the rate at which it's heating up seem right to you? It went from 24 to 52 from start up to log in. Then in 5 minutes it went up to 65. Turned it off and did some stuff then turned it back on a couple minutes later and in another 5 minutes it was up to 75

Oh and that last increase was just sitting in the pc health status in the BIOS watching the temperature go up

Well at least it sounds like my father's gonna try to help me replace whatever needs replacing

I can't find the fan that came with my CPU

I suggest giving it a good blowout with some compressed air. I've thought I had several fans go out, but after a bit of air it straightened up. Dust is evil.

Good luck.

I did this about a month ago but can't now cause I don't have any. I did check for dust on it though and there wasn't any. Worst case scenario is I have to get a new motherboard.

Seems like it may not just be the motherboard sensor gone crazy. Using "cpu eat 'n' cool" I've got the temperature holding at 66. Not what I like it to be running at but good enough for this test. Hopefully when my uncle gets home we can find another fan to try.

I tried everything I could to avoid it but eventually I had to try to take off my heatsink and exactly what I feared happened. Had to order a new processor, motherboard, memory, and CPU.
