I used to not be able to eat spicy food at all when I was young but now I really love eating spicy food. Especially if there's a little bit of Chinese numbness in it. The last time I went to China, my cousin took me to this restaurant that was so numb, I couldn't taste anything for the rest of the night. *_*

The restaurant was numb...?
|
Yeah. Chinese people have a combination where they give you both spicy and numb (from like peppercorn and stuff) at the same time. But this dish was more numb than spicy and just... wasn't as enjoyable. It was also super salty.

That doesn't really wanna make me try spicy food LOL
|
Just try spicy foods without the 麻辣. I thought most Chinese people are spicy food. Some of the most famous Chinese dishes are spicy (or are supposed to be, eg. kung pao chicken, mapo tofu). Not like super spicy but just a tiny bit spicy.
Actually, I think the secret is to eat lots of rice. Whenever I eat spicy food, I always have to eat a lot of rice. |
Down south of China food are generally more salty/soy sauce rather than spicy.. which is the type of food I'm generally use to..
To be honest I don't even like food with too much pepper in it.. LOL! |
