A "Perfect" tanker would be full END. If all you wanna do is tank. Having SPR and STR is trying to make a fighter more hybrid so they can do a bit of dmg too.

TBH a shield, some END based gear, and the highest Tier scroll your character could put on, would give you a good base built for tanking.

Once you don't get 1HKO like most "tankers" do nowadays, you will need good skills in keeping aggro, and not to rely 100% on a cleric to keep you alive (meaning to watch your own HP and bring pots and stones).

And as mentioned before, KNOW YOUR LIMIT! I hate it when a tanker runs in a whole heap of mobs yelling "I'M TANKING!!" then dies in 2 sec and yell "WHERE'S MY CLERIC?!"

A complete tanker is only END, but if you wanted a little bit of damage, do 50 STR and rest END. (In my opinion) :P

My fav part of kqs is tanking. So I am a full end with a shield. I don't even need to use a scroll and I hate str build fighters cuz I'm a cleric and we need to spam heal them unless they are scrolled. And I was a lev 22 in goldhill with no scroll or buff. A lev 30 fighter got pwned, I was tanking without a sweat... The lev 30 was an axe full str build with buff...

I would say +5 SPR +15 DEX Rest END.

In theory the perfect tanker is a character that can take A LOT of hits without dieing or being spam healed. They also need to be abble to keep agro and if they lose agro, they need to be able to get it back asap. My personal experience with tanking is this: I have all +9 armor, a +9 sword and shield, and I'm looking for a +10 axe. My skill empowerment is: CD on Mock, CD, dmg, durration of Devastate, CD on WW, and dmg on Slice and Dice. My build is: +50 END, +25 SPR, +10 STR, +10 DEX. I'm currently alternating with DEX and STR.

It's not so much the build but your skill as a tanker.

The build stated by the OP is pretty standard. After 50 pts in END it's just like the 25 SPR, the bonus is negligible. Unless you know you'll always have a leveling partner a full END build will level rather slowly. So best to invest in STR after 50 points and by then you'll appreciate the extra damage even if you are forced to solo.

Of course, always carry 1h+shield and an axe.

Half-assed DEX is pointless and spreading your stats out is inefficient. If you find your aim to be crap then find DEX gear and use aim scrolls.

After that you need to learn to tab through mobs and use Snearing Kick. Once you get Deva then you can alternate. As a tanker your job is keeping aggro, not damage. That's what the Mages and Archers are for.
