Update:
http://www.theness.com/neurologicablog/?p=1195

It appears the disorder was psychogenic in nature and not dystonia. This means the vaccine didn't cause the symptoms, in case anyone was worried about that. Still a fascinating case, though.

So I take it that vaccine was merely a trigger?

Seems like a coincidence at this point, actually. If the vaccine had caused it, she would not be getting better.

Huh. This is interesting... It does seem like too much of a coincidence though. But I'll wait and see.

A happening shortly before B =/= cause and effect. For example, if i eat a peppermint candy and die of poisoning a few minutes later, it's not neccesarilly the CANDY That was poisoned, and it can be proven as such if the investigators can show the TRUE cause (i.e. someone sticking a syringe in my neck, in this example.)

Another example: I eat peanuts and i begin having negative reactions soon thereafter. The assumption that the peanut MUST have been related to the reactions (I.e. allergies) cannot be trusted, especially if other evidence points to the contrary.

in this case, from what i read so far in the forums, it was a condition unrelated to the vaccine; therefore, just because she had the vaccine close by doesnt mean it caused it, till proven otherwise.

Did...did I just read a reasonable post by Jik? Maybe I've been drinking too much lately...

Yeah, i didnt get to the part where i explained how the Jonas Brothers caused the initial brain damage.

kidding, of course.
