ZOMG!!!! Hessah!! You have never carved a pumkin???????????
Yes, the BIG pumkins are only sold around Halloween and we buy them simply to carve them. They are usually only 5-10 dollars depending on the size you want, if that expensive. Then we put candles in them to light them up and see their carved faces.

Not really; pumpkins aren't a big eatin squash here for the most part. I don't think I've ever eaten pumpkin aside from seeds and pie.

Halloween was really fun when I was a little kid for all the candy, and again when I was around 18-23 or so for the parties. Now though, I just walk the kids around a little and come back home.

Well if you can't find a pumpkin, you can always substitute the pumpkin with a watermelon. It's not like they'll notice..

Tadiakichi 11-01-2007 01:54 AM

You dare waste a watermelon for trivial purposes? How dare you D:

Hmm so now green is the new orange eh? I've also never carved a pumpkin before. Hmm... I don't even think I've touched, eaten, came in contact with a pumpkin before... Not even a plastic one.

Watermelons are tastey. I'd rather eat one. Harder to eat a pumpkin.

Its really messy carving a pumpkin. You have the "guts" that are all slimey and stringy.

Awarain 11-01-2007 02:13 AM

Mmmm, I used to grow pumpkins for the kids that lived next door to me. My pumpkins never had much for squishy guts inside...usually just a few seeds.

I think I have a photo of my favorite pumpkin around here somewhere...

Okay, So he grew randomly in my garden and when his vine died out, he was still a little green...but I decided he still deserved to be carved...

Binkie couldn't seem to sit up straight on his own, so he sat on a tape roll...

But he was the perfect shape for a skelly face!

Hessah 11-01-2007 02:18 AM

oopz i just realised i've been spelling pumpkin wrong along XD

pumpkin is often roasted, and we eat it with roast beef and stuf.. (together with potatos, peas, carrots)

WOW that's a huge pumpkin!! nice poto of the skeleton~...

and erm.. a watermelon... i can imagine how messy that's gonna get! juicy everywhere~

@pritcher: arent u suppose to make the day as much fun as u had for ur kids? keke
