once again...

STOP RAINING AND SNOW!!!!! TT___TT

Lady-Loki 03-01-2009 07:29 PM

Okay, maybe I blamed the camera too quickly. I changed it to the "Auto" setting and let the camera decide how best to set itself and took them again.

I quoted and added the new to the original post for comparison.

Yeah, we got it too (of course, that's to be expected since we live just a few miles apart - lol):

So many shades of GRAY!

(EDIT: picture comparison makes me even more sad that my camera like Spirit's quit working & my replacement is apparently sub-par.)

was it snowing when you retook the pictures?

Lady-Loki 03-01-2009 07:39 PM

No, but the snow the first time was not the problem.

It was not that gray outside either time. In fact it was rather bright outside both times. And the snow falling was not really that heavy either.

I had the camera set for pictures of people. I changed it to automatic & let the camera set itself.

Lirange 03-01-2009 07:53 PM

Ooooh

Spirit 03-01-2009 08:53 PM

I didn't notice the huge difference in clarity until you retook them. Major difference though. I always set me camera on auto. I figure it knows more than me when it comes to pictures.

WAOH...... that looks cool~ and it's surprising how much the Auto setting does..

I think i need to find that button on my camera too...

In the 3rd picture in loki's post.. wats that on the ground that's only partly covered in snow?

That is a slate rock patio that my dad built. The rock absorbs the heat, so just like on the roads, the snow would not stick to the rocks.

Ohhh icc

I really like that last "new" photo of loki's house.. there's something dreamy about that photo keke

Lady-Loki 03-01-2009 11:19 PM

Thanks Hessah, it is a pretty good place to live. We are semi-rural, but close enough to get to stores in 10 minutes or so.

We moved here in 1985 and this area has been pretty free of issues other than the annual toilet paper rollings of other peoples yards and the always present kids playing mailbox baseball.

It's not a big fancy house and it has the tiny bathrooms and tiny closets that so many houses built in the early 60's had, but the location is hard to beat (not saying it can't be beat, because it can, it would just be hard to beat).

One thing we love is that we don't have neighbors twenty feet outside our door. In that picture of my house the distant house you see is the closest neighbor on that side and there is a lake between us. On the other side, look at the first picture - the structures in the distant are our pool deck and the canopy on the tower of our jungle-gym swing set and the neighbor on that side is further from those structures than my house is. And there are two houses across the street, but no issues with them other than the kids in one house tend to gather around midnight on Friday nights and have those bass speakers that thump, but they generally spend an hour thumping & then go inside.
