I think it was an indictment against the whole "gadget culture" that seems to have taken over in the US rather than an actual attack on Sony. More complex, more expensive, more marginally useful electronic equipment being released. I could be misinterpreting it.

Meh, it's not the first time Sony fucked things up... I still remember those "flammable" laptop batteries.
