Dark, just take a few minutes away from FF and take your mind off things. We do not won't you to leave. You only want to try and make FF better and there is nothing wrong with throwing out ideas. Your idea might not be the best thing out there, but it opens discussion for ways to make it better, and we appreciate that.

I agree, don't let one person cause you to leave. If you post and that one person replies then just skip over what they post and pretend it isn't there.

Or, better yet, just block them and their posts won't be shown in your screen.

And, yes, I know who it is and I know what thread it is. And I think that perhaps that person tends to forget that everyone does not possess the same level of word skill, spelling skill and comprehension as they do. I think they also tends to forget that everyone here is not in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties and may still have some logic to sort out on their own.

Like I said, block that person or skip over their posts and don't reply to them. That way you don't give them more to come back at you with.

You'll note that I did try to go slowly in explaining why I didn't think his idea had merit. I walked him through the process in an effort to let him come to the realization himself. I also didn't mention the spelling/typing thing until he himself brought it up. I made a critique and he blew up about it and threw a fit. If he can't handle constructive criticism of a flawed idea, maybe he doesn't belong here until he grows a pair. One must be able to defend their ideas. This world is not rainbows and puppy dogs. It is struggle, it is debate. I went slow and used kid gloves and got bitched at for my troubles.

He is 18 years of age and a life-long resident of the US. Am I wrong in expecting basic communication abilities and coherency on an English-based board? I've politely asked in the past if English was his first language, and he whined again about me being "mean". A lot of our foreign, non-English speakers on this board show a level of proficiency higher than this chap. Before we go lamenting the school system, I'd like to submit the axiom "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink." I wouldn't mind trying to help him master the language, but he seems quite hostile to the idea.

Maybe spelling is not his strong suit. I work with a 40 year old who is constantly asking me how to spell simple words. She is smart, but she simply struggles with spelling. I can spell pretty good for the most part, yet I struggle with pronunciation. I typo every now and then; but hell, no one is perfect.

If it bothers him so bad and you can tell it does, just leave it alone. It is up to him to change it, not us.

If someone really irritates you, it is best to block them. Go to User CP > Buddy/Ignore list (down the left side), and add their name in. Their posts will not show up. Personally I think that's the best way to go about it. Like everyone said, there's no point in leaving here just for one single person.

Personally, I'd prefer mispelt posts that were made out of kindness rather than a post with perfect english that does no good to the forum/community. That's the way I see it.
