I haven't even heard of the train-crash until now.

It was determined with evidence to back it up that the engineer was too damn busy text-messaging to pay attention to his actual job and he never saw the red lights.
All those people were killed and injured because he felt that texting was more important than his job. THe thing is, he had already passed a caution light and followed procedures by reporting it to the conductor. Meaning he KNEW a red light was coming up.

I was supposed to meet up with him when I went to Cali...

now he called it off because he's got to stay off his feet for about 2 months. =/

It is good he's alive and recovering. Hope he gets well soon. Two months is long.

Proves that people should pay attention to the task they're doing, not texting when doing something important.
