Anyways...I just hope the Gm's will sort this out..

However...There was a "find the Gm" event yesterday, and I found her..GM Magic_Girl

I asked her about the lag and she thinks its just my comp..

but my comp has been running fiesta perfectly before server move.

Who doesn't love kitty girls?

More on topic........yeah dude, whining about it and randomly capitalizing words in your rant wont make them fix it any faster. Its a holiday, yeah it sucks that it lags but seriously.......you cant find anything else to do for 1 weekend?

Loveless 09-01-2008 09:40 PM

You can't expect the GMs or any of the Outspark staff to work on a holiday. And furthermore, I believe this is their second server move and the other time it lagged like crazy too on the first couple of days/weeks.

And like Samson said, kicking and screaming about lag isn't going to make it any better. It's the holidays, everyone has a day off and that everyone is trying to play the game with the exp boost.

LoL , they probably are wondering themselves why its slower

Hessah 09-02-2008 12:16 AM

Even if the GMs are at work, wat are the chances that the server ppl arent at work?! XD

I'm sure they'll do something about it... its affecting practically EVERYONE...

the old one was playing up with d/c... but no lag (but i got randomly d/c every few hrs in the last week)

this one.. just feels like really bad connection all the time... my bf cant even connect to the servers.... =/

but i'm very positive that outspark will find a solution for it.. how long it'll take is another question.. but they definitely wont ignore it! (esp when there's like 50 locked threads on the official forum about LAAAAAAAAG)

We're changing hosts this weekend.

You're the only person other than me that I've seen think of it that way.

I would rather have lag now, than risking my entire char being messed up because they decided to do some maintenance unannounced.

Hessah 09-02-2008 02:52 AM

But their maintenance only delayed our maintenance for a few hrs...

it just means we cant play for a night or w/e...

but now.. i had trouble just walking around... u hv no idea how many times i "ran into mobs" coz i keep getting zapped back and appear where i didnt think that I would appear..

I had to use twice the amount of stones on my mage.. coz my skill wouldnt cast at normal cool down times..

they can easily fix the maintenance time... people learn to notify others... but the entire server lagging is more of a permanent issue than a one off maintenace..

i mean it sounds right for outspark to change host coz the old server did something wrong.. but... switch for the worse? I rather have the old one back...

Ivramire 09-02-2008 04:55 AM

Noone knows what the lag will be like a little while from now with these servers, I'm sure they're doing everything they can to get servers that are quite a bit less laggy. I think it lagged like hell too the first time they changed, but like booyah said I'd prefer information integrity over lag.

I'm sure they can always change servers/reduce lag but a character once lost in a maintenance mix-up might never comne back =/

Hessah 09-02-2008 05:06 AM

i sure hope they have a backup server / database thingy for that...

I've never really heard of any host losing /messing up an entire database? o-o surely its common sense and knowledge that everything needs to be backed up?

or that i hvnt heard, doesnt mean it has never happened.... hmmmm

yeah well i'm pretty sure this lag is only temporary too... it just sounds like u guys prefer to have a server that keeps everything organised but lags permanently than hving a server that runs smoothly but gives unexpected maintenance..

i would actually prefer smooth run, and unexpected maintenace.. provided that outspark backs up their own database (which is wat i assume they do every monday night?)

Loveless 09-02-2008 05:09 AM

I think that even if a company did do regular back-ups an unnotified maintenance on the server side when they should've known Outspark was going to have a rather large update is not a very good thing. And y'never know maybe the old server providers decided to be a jerk about it too.
