I believe people were mad because he was recognized for the first L79 through hacks. Had he reached that status honestly then I don't think anyone here would have begrudged him his recognition & reward.

They would do enhancements for people on the server and charge gold for it.

Although he did cheat, he did it to mainly help people.

To me (just my opinion) this would be a contradiction - if they charged gold for doing the enhancements then they were doing it for in-game currency, i.e. personal profit.

Doing it to "help" people would have been doing it for free or for the cost of stones only.

I have done enhancement for someone using perfects and did not charge a single copper for the "help" I gave. They gave me their weapon and the stones and I helped by using the spare perfects I had.

So, IMHO, there is a difference in charging gold for an enhancement service and just helping people.

They got banned not only for the cash thing.
they hack the cooldowns, thats why the perm ban.(confirmed by SKiNG)
same happend in Epith, a mage girl named Franzy, she was the higest (lvl 66) when the hardcore grinders was 60 all. Sylkipico found she spaming her skills and GG.

So not only did they use cash shop hacking they also hacked cool downs? All to be 1st to the lvl cap in a GAME!? Seriously people, that is horribly sad.

I've been reading this thread and could not resist but to tell you guys what me and my friends found out.

Actually, this "cooldown hack" thing, is not really a hack. It's a swap of BK files and Fiesta files. Fiesta files for Devastate, maximum empowered cooldown is 14seconds. What is BK? 11seconds. If you watch the video closely, Sylvia will start spinning around and does the Deva thingy at 11seconds. 11seconds is where he casted the skill. Secondly, the mage's Magic Burst, which is 3 seconds. Magic burst maximum empowered cooldown in Fiesta is 5seconds or 4seconds+(forgot), but in BK, it's 3 seconds.

The above experiments were tested by friends, and the above are the results.

It's not hack really. Just a simple swapping of BK files and Fiesta files.

That's what was also said in officials when it first came up o.o

lotta people suggested it

isn't it still illegally manipulating game-files by altering from the original supplied by the publisher for personal gain, and to get an edge in a stupid competition?

Hessah 05-29-2008 06:34 AM

the term hacking is just being used really generally here...

hacking, modding, are all cheating, trying to play a game outside its rules...

call it watever you want but in the end its all the same... BANHAMMER

Sero 05-29-2008 07:43 AM

Yeah that'd have to be illegal too... And not only cause it's unfair for everyone else~
