Who?

Lafieru 11-20-2007 02:51 PM

Wow, bad news. My comp is very crash prone, and it seems everytime it crashes, the thing starts over. (Which I don't understand at all, I thought it was saving work on the HD? ~_~ ).

So yeah, doesn't look like I'll be getting any WUs done anytime soon. =(

It should be saving your work to the work folder it creates wherever you install or run the program from. If you're really highly crash prone you might want to lower the checkpoint frequency so it saves more often. If you installed the GUI version you can right-click the icon in the notification area of the taskbar and then click configure and go to the Advanced tab and there should be a slider for the checkpoint frequency there. It can be set to save as often as every 3 minutes, I think the default is something like every 10-15 minutes.

If you're really crashing that often though, you should probably look into that first and try to find the reason why you're crashing and fix it. There could be a billion reasons for that though. It's most often due to lack of maintenance. Do the normal stuff, CheckDisk, Defrag, Virus/ad/spyware Scan, Registry Cleaner and actually open up the case and physically clean out the dust as that often causes crashes and restarts from overheating. Good luck.

@Saetayoru - Welcome to list :)

Oh, guess I forgot to post. I was going to download this anyways, and I figured you might want another team member, even though I'm pretty new to the site.
